Nestled in Westport, this attractive cottage for $620 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Mill Pond Retreat is a lovely 3 bedroom 2.5 bath two-story cottage with panoramic views of the quiet and private Mill Pond, an 80 acre tidal estuary that flows into the Long Island Sound. It's home to many species of birds and aquatic wildlife. The cottage sits directly overlooking Mill Pond on a quiet and private street. A picturesque 1/2 mile walk will land you at Mill Pond Beach. A short 3 min drive can have you soaking up the sun at the popular Compo Beach. Restaurants, shopping, and entertainment are a plenty on Main Street or Riverside Ave just 5-10 mins away. Main Floor: The main floor boasts an open floor plan with kitchen, dining, and living areas overlooking Mill Pond via a wall of windows across the front of the house. Through the french doors, walk out onto an expansive patio to enjoy coffee/breakfast as the sun rises over the water or open up the grill and enjoy a BBQ on a perfect Westport summer night. The main floor also contains a 1/2 bathroom and laundry. Master bedroom: The master bedroom has a queen size bed with floor to ceiling windows for stunning views of Mill Pond. The bedroom also contains the master bathroom with tub. Note: The bathroom is in the bedroom and is not separated by a wall or door. If more privacy is needed, there is a full bathroom right down the hall. The bedroom has direct access via two doors to the upper deck Guest bedrooms: There are 2 guest bedrooms with twin beds. Guest bedroom 1 also has fantastic views overlooking the pond with direct access to the upper deck. A guest bathroom is located in the hallway right outside these bedrooms Den: The upper floor also contains an oversized den (or additional sleeping area). Also perfect as a play area as there is tons of space! Upper Deck: The upper deck encompasses the entire southern and eastern exposures of the house. Our family loved this spot! Sunrise over the glassy Mill Pond was beautiful. We saw lots of wildlife, foxes, deer, and a muskrat, enjoying the marsh. The house fit our family of four perfectly. It has a well equipped, high end kitchen. Both upstairs and downstairs have good heat and air. The hostess was one of the most friendly we have met. Highly recommended.

We will be back! We love the location, and the house has everything we need. The owner is amazing. From the welcome basket to responding to our questions immediately while we were onsite, the experience is outstanding from a hospitality perspective.

Our stay at Laurajean’s home was the most relaxing and magical time. We were mesmerized by the amazing view and wildlife surrounding the property. Our walks were punctuated by friendly neighbors and a gorgeous beach. Laurajean was a wonderful host, caring for our needs and always available. We didn’t want to leave!!

We stayed at Mill Pond Retreat with our young children and nanny, the space was beautiful and the perfect escape from the city. Laurajean was so kind and communicative throughout the entire process from booking until our last day when she gave us the most thoughtful parting gift. The house has stunning views of the water, we enjoyed playing with the kids outside on the lawn and the location was perfect for access to the beach and local restaurants. Staying at Laurajean's was such a treat and I look forward to booking with her again soon.

This property was a beautiful, serene escape we were able to enjoy on our end of summer trip back East. We were visiting family in the Westport/Norwalk area, and this was a wonderful place to call home for the week. A short walk to Compo and Old Mill Beaches for sand and water play, a short drive into downtown Westport, and neighboring areas (for our purposes). The view of Mill Pond right in front of us was heaven. The home was well-equipped in all living areas. Laurajean was incredibly easy to communicate with, super helpful with local information, and left some nice touches of hospitality at check in & check out. We will happily consider this retreat for future CT trips.

Just what we needed!

Just what we needed!

What a wonderful place! So tranquil, peaceful. It was everything we wanted: water views (beautiful!); great outdoor space (comfortable, with lots of places to relax); walkable (could walk to Old Mill Beach in 10 to 15 minutes, Compo Beach in 20 to 25 minutes); drivable (could drive into Westport in about 10 minutes); a lovely house (nicely decorated, very clean and very comfortable for our family). And equally wonderful was Laurajean! She couldn’t have been more welcoming, helpful, flexible or kind! She really contributed to making our stay terrific!

We had a very relaxing visit! The house was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We spent every night sitting outside listening to the birds and taking in the view. We appreciated having a grill so we could cook outside and we really enjoyed having a choice of Nespresso or French press for coffee in the morning. The proximity to Compo beach was great - we walked down nearly every day! Laurajean was the perfect hostess and went out of her way to make our visit special. We will definitely stay again when we travel to Westport!
