About this house rental

Nestled in Strathmere, this charming house for $675 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Located in North Strathmere’s highly sought after Point, this beach house boasts all the character of a getaway from a different time and slower pace while offering comforts and tech vacationers of today need. The house and location combine to offer a beach vacation experience like few others. With one foot in the Roaring 1920’s (Strathmere's newly renovated Deauville Inn and Twisties Tavern were popular prohibition era watering holes) and the other foot enjoying the conveniences of the 2020’s this classic beach house offers something for everyone. And new to this year…solar power! Roof-monted solar PV system was installed in June 2023, so bring your EVs and figuratively & literally recharge at the Ruddy. Inside enjoy the renovated eat-in kitchen, bathrooms, outdoor spaces, central heating & cooling, comfortable furniture, beds, and pillows, high speed wireless internet, and tons of streaming apps on a new tv. After hearing that cable was useless from many of you we just dropped it, so high speed internet and streaming only. You’re also welcome to leave your mobile devices in your bags and peruse the book shelves of paperbacks, puzzles and games. If you start a book and get distracted by the sun, sand and sea take it home with you. Park your vehicles in the two car garage and take your pick of beaches; one block to the east enjoy the guarded Atlantic beach complete with ocean waves, tide pools, shells and soft sand. One block to the north explore the point’s long dunes filled with sea birds and beach bordering Corson’s Inlet State Park and Strathmere Bay. The point is a great place for small children, to fish or pull up your boat. Both beaches are steps from the front door. After a relaxing day on the beach, active day on the water or adventuresome day exploring the shops and restaurants of Ocean City, Sea Isle City, or Cape May, the Wildwood Aviation Museum, or the Cape May County Zoo relax on the comfortable covered porch seating with ceiling fan and veranda lights, enjoy the outdoor shower, fire up the propane grill and turn on the matching veranda lights on the patio. When you’re ready to head inside, wrap up in a blanket on the deep cushion couches for a book or movie. Program the coffee maker before you head to bed and start all over again in the morning. The master bedroom has a plush king bed and en-suite bathroom. Another bedroom has a queen bed and shares a bathroom with the third bedroom equipped with two bunk beds. All bedrooms connect in a hallway that leads to the living room with a privacy sound door. The fireplace, furniture and entertainment center are equipped to make the living room a relaxing and fun gathering place. Off the living room the you’ll find the completely updated and open eat-in kitchen and on to the back porch. Find a full size washer and dryer in a closet in the queen bedroom. ***Beach erosion update: the Army Corps of Engineers has begun a $34 million beach replenishment and dune reconstruction project. It will be completed by spring 2024 and significantly increase the ocean beaches, repair and replace all access points and rebuild the point by Corson’s Inlet.***

Memorial Day Weekend getaway
Memorial Day Weekend getaway
We had a wonderful time renting this property, which was conveniently located only a block away from the beach and area restaurants. The beaches were not too crowded which was a bonus and there was plenty of street parking too. The house itself is roomy and has a great updated kitchen, as well as comfortable outdoor space. Our host was communicative and informative. We would definitely rent again!

Cozy beach house
Cozy beach house
We enjoyed our trip to this property. Very convenient to the beach and on a very quiet section of Strathmere. The kitchen was well equipped, the only thing we needed was a few chip clips and a pitcher for making ice tea. Wade was very attentive and answered all our questions.

We loved this house and its location - very quick walk to the bay-side and the beach. The street is quiet and very little traffic. The patio & backyard are great, and the garage is huge. (Recommendation: bring an umbrella for the patio table. Bring games to play in the backyard. Bring an extra set of towels for the outdoor shower.) The house was well-equipped and all of the appliances & furniture were in great condition. The beds were comfortable and there are lots of pillows available to use (you need your own bedding & extra pillowcases). However, the whole house was surprisingly dusty. We used the vacuum to thoroughly clean up the floors & under the furniture as we're travelling with a young toddler. As with any beach house, you'll need to use the broom or vacuum (both provided) every day to manage the sand that tracks in. (There is an outdoor hose & powerful spray attachment provided outside to help keep the sand at bay.) The first day, I was surprised by the tiny kitchen ants that have residence there, but after speaking with friends & family staying at different houses nearby, we all had the same little ants running around. Recommendation: Bring clips to tightly close any open food bags, or better yet bring small-medium sized tupperware containers for food storage. We will DEFINITELY stay here again. We really loved the house and its location, and the owner was extremely responsive and helpful every time we contacted him. Thank you!

Wonderful long weekend!
Wonderful long weekend!
Stayed with a family group of 4 adults and 4 kids aged 1 - 8, and everyone had a wonderful time. Communication with the owner was absolutely stellar from booking all the way through our stay, and we found the house clean and ready for us. The older kids enjoyed the bunk beds, playing outside and the outdoor shower post-beach, and the high chair and pack n play were perfect for my 1 year old nephew. The beach, inlet and bay are steps away, and the street was quiet. The house has a lot of character, and is well-kept and clean with comfortable beds and plenty of blankets. We are long-time shore goers but this was our first time in Strathmere and we are hooked! This vacation and this house were exactly what we needed. Thanks again, Wade and Maraika!!!
