I take it as my fault, I assumed it was like the last studio I have rented for a couple of years. Not available. This unit had NO: Stovetop, Oven, Dishwasher, Microwave, Freezer in small hotel size Refrigerator and Washer & Dryer. I managed, but was disappointed it lacked in so much.

The property is very very old and the unit has a remodel bathroom and that’s it. There is no microwave or cooktop and plugs are capped off in a kitchen sink area . There are dishes but no way to prepare food unless you use the old grills outside and no way to warm up food. There were termite bugs noise the unit around the bedding and pillows . Freaked us out!

Initially, we thought that you can cook in the accommodation. However, this was not possible. Therefore, we switched to the BBQ grills in the complex. Worked wonderfully.

A great bed, clean shower, and great towels - this studio is very simple and perfect when you plan to be outside and out and about for most of your trip. The nightly price is very competitive for HBR - I searched long and hard for the "best" studio to suite my needs and budget. Two suggestions - add a note in the description about the incredibly steep walkway to get to the condo - I'm still in awe that it meets any code anywhere but navigated it ok. tricky with groceries.And give the condo a REALLY good cleaning - especially the ceiling - dust bunnies hang all over the ceiling and on occasion the fan blows them down on the bed. While HBR has seen better days, the pool is an oasis and the views are breathtaking,

This was our first time to Kauai and we stayed at this property the first night we arrived. It was very easy to find using google directions. After check in, we were provided a map of where to park and where this unit was located on the 22 acre campus. Parking was very limited in the lot closest to the unit. Then you have to trek with your bags down a back driveway, beyond the dumpsters and a busy employee maintenance worker entrance area complete with loading docks. Tip: leave anything in your car that is not worth carrying all the way through all of this and down, down to the unit. Once inside, the unit was very pleasantly clean, cool and welcoming. The bed was amazing. We slept like babies but had to get a move on in the morning. We checked in 7:00 pm and had to be out by 10:00 am the following morning. The early checkout makes things really rushed in the morning and kind of makes you feel like you barely got your moneys worth. I would have paid extra to check out a couple hours later. In the end, we rate this unit with 4 stars. 3.5 stars seemed not quite enough. We probably would have rated our experience 4.5 stars had it not required the commute through the not-so-satisfying employee entrance area. If we choose to stay at Hanalei Bay Resorts again, we will pay extra for a more centralized unit. Also, if you stay on a Wednesday and want a drink at the bar when you first arrive, byob! The bar/restaurant is closed on Wednesday evenings?? The pool area is open until 10:00 but is dimly lit. The hot tub was broken which was a real bummer also. Good, clean place to sleep and take a clean shower. If you pack light and don’t mind a bit of a hike to your room, this may be the place for you!!

Hanalei Bay Resort is nice. But there are different levels of condo for sure. Ours was more affordable than others and we learned upon arriving that we had to walk past the dumpsters and loading docks to get to it, like it's where the staff lives. The unit itself was flawed, with loose towel racks & burned out light bulbs and it was not all that clean. It is true and fair that the king bed was EXCELLENT as were the pillows and linens. Princeville in general is pretty square and you can't get a cup of coffee anywhere on the property. But the bar is cool and the landscape design is A+

We had a great vacation, but...we were a bit disappointed with the property. The room as good, but it was a bit run down and dusty. There were chips in the wall paint, the art work was dated and warped, furniture has seen better days, and there was dust everywhere (under the bed, the lamps, base boards, etc.). But the view was great, room was quiet and the bed was super comfortable. Now onto the resort...it was very disappointing. They call it a resort, but there was very little there to offer the guests. Pool bar was indefinitely closed, the main restaurant was closed, and the only place to eat was the lounge but it's only open 5 days a week from 3-9pm. There was no place on the property to have coffee or eat breakfast and lunch. And, the lounge had issues two of the four nights we were there so the wait time was crazy long and they couldn't serve alcohol. It was nice that they had a beach to access from the property, which it took 15-20 minutes to walk to, but they don't offer any restrooms once you're there. We won't be going back to HBR.

The property was very clean and accurately described. The bed was super comfortable! The resort staff were very accommodating and welcoming from the moment you pulled up to check-in. My wife and I enjoyed the peacefulness and walks down to the beach with our coffees in the morning. Many of those mornings we were treated with amazing views of morning rainbows across Hanalei Bay. Would definitely stay here again!

Thank you. It was a lovely trip. We enjoyed hearing the tropical birds each morning, the use of the amenities of the resort and easy access to the north shore. My only complaint was the septic sewer smell on some mornings! It was undeniable. The front desk said it was due to the way the winds were blowing! That said, it was not nice. Otherwise, not many more complaints.

Well, HBR is in a beautiful location but most of what owners pay for in the $3700 monthly HOA dues are run down or not working or closed indefinitely. The restaurant staff is all elderly and sooooo slow. The pool pics are very deceiving. The hot tub fits eight at most but has a four person limit. The unit itself is old, tiny and the carpets and furniture is really dirty. We did not sit on anything. Water drains super slow everywhere. Tiny clothes closet filled with cleaning and beach stuff. Old dresser and desk. Missing drawers in what used to be a kitchenette. Hood vent still attached under cabinets over a glued on butcher block where burners used to be. Patio is tiny and very hot in am. No Privacy wall between you and neighbors, just some cheap wooden shutters, so you get to have your coffee and conversation with them too. Very thin walls as well. We had a very unhappy one year old next door. Parking is a huge battle and a long steep walk carrying luggage and food in the pouring rain. There are ongoing lawsuits regarding the awful parking situation at HBR for good reason. Some tennis courts in good shape but most are unusable. Cracked concrete courts are bad. Turf courts are fine. Overall, the unit was dated, dirty, warped paintings on the walls, brown ugly paint on main wall, dark icky carpet and lots of bugs. The shower was remodeled and the only part not worn. We won’t be buying here or coming back to any unit unfortunately. HBR used to be so nice

Beautiful spot
We really enjoyed our stay at the beautiful HBR. The studio style apartment with mini fridge and coffee maker was great. My favorite part was the really comfortable king size bed, the pack n play AND high chair for our baby, and the beautiful private and shady beach with the beach and snorkeling gear provided!

We loved it for the first half of our honeymoon. Amazing view of the mountains from the balcony and great access to Queens Bath and Hanalei Bay. Loved everything about it.

This condo is in a nice quiet location and the resort has an amazing pool, nice beach and tennis. Condo itself was very musty smelling although it was clean and well appointed. It is small so could use a much more thoughtful approach to space with more hooks and places for drying swimsuits, towels and gear.

WILL NOT ISSUE REFUND DUE TO COVID
My husband and I were unable to stay at our condo in Kuai due to COVID-19. The policy for Aloha Condos is not flexible and only allows a re-booking within one year whereas all other resorts, hotels, Airbnb, etc. we have contacted in Hawaii are allowing refunds due to the circumstances. I have called multiple times and left voicemails to address this with Aloha Condos and they have not returned my call and refuse to be flexible. I will NEVER stay with them again and am very disappointed in my overall booking experience.

Nice reslort, beach access, and tennis
We had a wonderful stay. Nice condo, nice resort grounds, good access to the beach. I want to give special acknowledgement to Mary Hannsz, the resort tennis pro. I wasn't planning on playing tennis on this vacation, but after a one hr cardio tennis class, I ended up playing several hours of tennis on the HBR courts. If I come back for another stay, I will include tennis as one of my activities.

The very best!
The ease of booking a late reasonable booking was heaven! And what a happy surprise that a lock off studio could be so appealing!! The updated decor is delightful and the unit was perfect for my husband and me! Staying at Hanalei Bay Resort was an added dimension of pleasure - the staff is respectful and superlative in every way. Never a sad face or anything but helpful. We are so happy with every aspect of this VRBO experience!

Hanalei Bay Resort #1557
Our unit was perfect for us!! Tastefully updated with splashy colors and a million bed pillows. Located close to both the pool and restaurant, but with a serene view of the mountains. Our awesome view was accented by a TV, which was great. Not all units have one. My husband and I started each day luxuriating with our pillows, our view, and our favorite show on ESPN. Very beautiful resort. Couldn’t ask for a prettier pool and grounds. Love the wildlife too. Wonderful vacation.

Perfect location & great condo!
This was our first time on Kauai and we absolutely loved it. The condo was just as described. Not only is it in the best location but also perfect location at the resort. Beautiful mountain views with a short walk to the resort’s pool, parking, restaurant and beach! It had everything you could need including some beach toys which was nice. We miss it already. We’ll definitely be back, hopefully soon!

Lovey condo, beautifully furnished. There is no stove or microwave but there are multiple barbecue grills on the property that are free to use. The Hanalei Bay Resort has a huge pool and hot tub along with beach access. We loved staying here and would definitely book again.

Great Location - with toys
Great for family fun or if you're looking for a quick get away. The room was had a nice welcome back with chocolates and also had boogie boards, snorkel and swim noodles. Perfect items to explore the beach. Check out out was really early though, so keep that in mind when booking.

Perfect
Both the condo and the resort were wonderful. It was relaxing and had great views. Everything was in working order. There were sets of various beach/water gear available however we didn't end up using anything. The only bad part was the on-site restaurant was only opened at 3pm and there were no breakfast options on-site. We didn't get groceries to use the kitchen. The location was great and gave us easy access to various places. The bed was perfect- not too hard but not too soft either.

Lovely mountain views
Condo 1557 is nicely situated close to all the amenities offered by he Hanalei Bay Resort. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was modern and clean. The view from the balcony was lovely. The only improvement I could suggest for the room is the inclusion of a microwave oven and a hot water kettle. While there is a refrigerator in the unit, it did not have ice-making capabilities. Otherwise, the unit lived up to expectations.

Excellent stay!
My husband and I recently did a vacation at Hanalei Bay and it exceeded expectations. The condo is a studio with a beautiful view of the mountains. We used the local grocery store, which was a couple miles away to stock up on snacks and sodas, which I'd also recommend. The entire property is beautiful and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. We will 100% be back!

Wonderful Experience
Hanalei Bay and the Princeville area is amazing! We are very grateful that we came across Hanalei Bay Resorts as an option to stay. The grounds are very well kept and beautiful, the condo which was a studio unit was clean and perfect for what we needed, and the location was very convienent to run into town, hang on the beach or explore the island.
