Wake up to sea views and fall asleep to the sound of the surf at Ahi, a self-contained 2-bedroom apartment tucked into the Whale Bay hillside at Koru Lodge, just outside Raglan.
Ahi is built for easy indoor-outdoor living. Upstairs, a private loft holds a queen bedroom; downstairs you'll find a king bed (splittable into twins on request), an open-plan lounge, dining area, and full kitchen. Step out to your own deck and soak in the private spa pool while the ocean and hills stretch out in front of you.
The kitchen comes fully equipped — stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher, and all the cookware you need — plus an outdoor BBQ for lazy dinners on the deck. A heat pump (with AC/aircon) keeps things comfortable year-round, and Wi-Fi and a Smart TV are on hand for downtime (note: no Sky/cable channels, and mobile signal can be patchy — part of the getaway charm).
Whale Bay and Indicator surf breaks are just a short walk away, making Ahi a great base for surfers and ocean lovers alike. Raglan town, with its cafés, restaurants, and shops, is about a 12-minute drive.
Ideal for couples, families, or small groups — and if you're travelling with a bigger crew, ask about booking alongside the neighbouring Whenua apartment, which shares an adjoining deck with equally stunning sea views.

Had a fantastic time. A really lovely place to stay, with a spectacular view. Can't fault it. And we were super well looked after by our hosts!

We had a wonderful three nights at Koru Lodge. We were two couples celebrating our 40th wedding anniversaries. The location, view, apartment and owner were marvellous. Because we were so far out of town we have mentioned to the owner that it would have been great to have had small things like paper towels, tongs and enough plates but these could have moved to the other apartments as there had been a group of 20 people staying and they could have taken to other apartments. In no way did it deter from our incredible time in Raglan.
