Nestled in Harrison, this charming house for $387 per night is a great option for your next break. THE CALLING LOON on Crystal Lake in Harrison, Maine. WINTER-House is open all winter long. Dock and swim float are in for 2024! Fishing: Crystal Lake is stocked annually with LL salmon and Brook trout. Check the Maine fish stocking report for other local lakes. Interesting local hiking. **Linens are provided and included in the cost. Bath, hand, face cloths, bathmat, kitchen hand and dish towels, sheets, pillow cases, comforters, blankets, throws.** **House cleaning is included in the cost** *No Pets* Large 3 floor, lakefront house, with a private dock and 8x8 float on beautiful Crystal Lake. The house is located in a quiet cove, with use of dock and swim float, 4 kayaks and a peddle boat. Spacious and sunny living/dining room, walk out to upper deck. Lower screened porch with unobstructed views of the lake. All bedrooms have large closets and small-medium sized dressers-plenty of storage. Gas grill and life vests (3 youth, 5 adult). In summer, paddle over to the town beach for additional amenities, short walk to local ice cream shop. June-August(5 night min. preferred). Fishing: Lake stocked annually. In Spring: Dock will be in early May. In Summer: Local hiking at Ponicherry Park and Plesant Mountain. Less than 1 hour to Story Land and the North Conway area. It was a very pleasant stay as the host was very nice and adjusted to our requests, the lake house was very beautiful and we enjoyed staying here for 2 nights. The only detail I would mention is the house could have been a lot more cleaner especially the upstairs bedrooms as it looked like it wasn’t cleaned after the previous guests had left.

Perfect location for our family fall getaway. The lake is gorgeous. Close to Fryeburg for those wanting to visit the annual fair. The house was spacious for our family of 6. I only wish the weather was a little better so we could’ve kayak the lake more. We had an excellent stay.

The house is spacious, and clean, with calming atmosphere, and plenty of space downstairs for kids to play. we enjoyed kayaking, fishing, and the beautiful sunrise each morning that was coloring the lake with silver shades. Thank you!

All was as expected, Home is spacious and very comfortable. This lake was gorgeous . Only issue was that the lake has been over-fished and we got no nibbles. Fisherman residents agree with that. Internet was in and out at times, but may have been due to weather. Also remember to bring your own bath rugs. Thank You

The house was comfortable and easy. The "supply your own linens" message 3 weeks before the trip was a big surprise and we were grateful one of us was driving AND had enough linens to supply the whole group! We had family across the lake and enjoyed paddling back and forth. Thank you.

The house was ideal for our friend-reunion. Plenty of room, and a great location. A few neighbors through the trees, but rarely saw or heard them. Swimming, fishing, boating, and kayaking were right down the steps to the lake. (FYI If you have mobility issues, this rental may be not suit your needs as far as water access goes.) Many late afternoons spent on the deck overlooking the lake and listening to the loons. Kitchen had everything we needed. Grocery store was a short drive away. Hosts left clear rental instructions and were very responsive. A few of the mattresses and pillows could use an upgrade, but other than that, it was pretty perfect!

The hosts communicated with us throughout our booking process and our stay. Very pretty spot by the lake and there was plenty of room for our party of 8! Bathrooms and beds all were good. Huge open concept kitchen/dining/living made it good for family time at night. Huge hill to get up(both ways) but it's walkable to Harrison's ice cream and village tie up.

My daughter, my friend and I had a delightful week at Crystal Lake. We kayaked, swam, had ice cream at The Creamery and went to the Bridgton Drive-in. The lake is beautiful, with little traffic and really is crystal clear. The grill and the well-equipped kitchen made for easy cooking and the beds were comfortable. It's a great cottage.

Our family of 6 adults and 2 small children stayed here for 6 nights and had a wonderful time. The vibe was just what we were looking for - relaxed lake living. The place was spacious, giving us room to work during the day and gather in the evening without worrying about keeping the children awake. The kitchen was very well stocked. The washer and dryer were great. (Just remember to bring sheets, towels, kitchen towels/sponges, shampoo, and laundry detergent.) The lake is just incredibly beautiful, and access was easy. We went to the town beach several times and rented the gazebo for a larger gathering. We will definitely try to stay here again for a family vacation.

Our family of 5 siblings enjoyed our reunion after attending my son’s wedding in Waterford. The lake is quiet and good for swimming, sailing, canoeing and kayaking. We enjoyed walks to the beach and in the area. The kitchen is well supplied and living/dining open area and deck worked well for us to gather for cocktails and meals. We liked having the porch for smaller groups to enjoy puzzles and games especially on rainy days. It’s a great house! We are already looking at dates for booking next summer.

I absolutely loved the view, the lake, and the use of the kayaks. Beyond that there were quite a few issues. I am not a picky person, I understand that most of these property's are people's vacation homes. Our first issue was the beds. The listing says 2 queens and we had to bring our own linens, which I understand especially now and that was fine. The problem was the bed upstairs that was supposed to be a queen was a double, it also had a very poor mattress. We took this trip with our in-laws for Father's Day weekend. My husband is 51, 6 feet tall and has some back issues. My in-laws are in their 70's, relatively fit, but my father-in lay is 6'-1". We gave them the bedroom on the main floor with the queen. It was fine. The room upstairs was awful. The bed was squished under the eves and so bad when I got in next to my husband, I rolled right to him uncontrollable. We are both pretty fit people too. I ended up with such back pain I was up at 5:30 am just to get out of that bed. Luckily the dock was the perfect place for morning yoga. Our second issue was the deck. It is in such disrepair that you had to be careful where you were walking for fear of falling through rotting boards. One evening the chair I was sitting in had it's leg break through. I'm only 140 lbs. This was a constant concern for my mother-in-law. I was afraid she'd trip or fall on uneven rotting boards. The last issue was the stairs down to the dock. My in-laws only came down once because they are in such disrepair. Nails coming up everywhere, rickety and angled oddly. I would be very scared of young children on them, as well as our older parents. The kitchen was good, everything we needed to cook all our meals. I really appreciate that. I do love the homey feel of older houses like this one and the view is beautiful. I suggest getting a new mattress for the upstairs bed, and changing where it's located. Also repairing the deck and the stairs to the water. I caution those renting to be very careful! I would not rent here again unless improvements have been made.

We had a perfect relaxing weekend. The place is awesome and well prepared to accommodate a large group. The outdoor areas of this property are really beautiful. It's all so peaceful. The cabin came with two kayaks and a peddle boat that the kids loved pedaling around in. We went up to Maine from NY and enjoyed staying at this property. The house is great for families. Lots of bedrooms to chose from. The house was very clean and had everything you would need. The town is not much to speak of but most everything is within 15 minute drive.
You are on a smaller lake (Crystal) but 5 minutes from the larger long lake and 20 minutes from the north end of Sebago (enormous lake).
Our teens used the kayaks and rented paddle boards for the week and had a great time. We took day trips on a couple of Maine’s beautiful scenic byways, went into Portland one day, and rented a boat on Sebago one day. A very peaceful vacation. Only wish the dock extended into deeper water or there was a swim platform available. It would also be nice to have a bit easier access to the water. All in all a very nice rental in a quiet location.
