The Check-in Quest: Find the Keys, Find the Apartment, Surrender Your Data

The apartment looked decent and was actually quite clean. The kitchen was well equipped, with a large fridge, oven, working washing machine and pretty much everything you might need. Almost nothing essential was missing. And if you leaned far enough over the balcony, with some luck and good weather, you could even spot a tiny piece of the sea. Technically a sea view, I suppose.

Check-in is an absolute nightmare. First, a 10-minute drive to collect the keys. Then multiple links, Spanish-only instructions, a mysterious key box and finally the challenge of finding the actual apartment. Basically an escape room, except you’re exhausted, carrying luggage and paid to participate. Arriving at night? May the odds be ever in your favour. But before the adventure even begins, you must enter your personal and credit card details into a third-party portal just to unlock the check-in instructions. Your card details remain stored there, and when I requested their deletion after checkout, nobody seemed to know how. Apparently, escaping the room is easier than escaping their database. The entire building, including the bathrooms, smelled of sewage. To be fair, this appears to be a building-wide plumbing issue rather than a problem specific to the apartment. Unfortunately, the smell doesn’t care whose responsibility it is. The central vacuum system was so clogged with accumulated dirt that it looked like the filter bag had been missing for several years. Quite an impressive archaeological collection. The balcony and outdoor mattresses were soaked from the previous day’s rain and took another day to dry. So much for enjoying that spectacular two-centimetre sea view. Chat support seemed like a bot that had never heard of the apartment it was supposed to help with, and English wasn’t among its talents. Overall, a reasonably decent apartment buried under terrible organisation, poor communication, questionable maintenance and serious privacy concerns. The apartment had almost everything we needed. Unfortunately, so did the check-in process: puzzles, frustration, wasted time and a complete lack of answers.

El piso y la urbanización son una maravilla. También la persona que te atiende al llegar.

Es una empresa poco cercana. Te cobran por entrar a las 12 (40 euros!!!) y te echan a las 10 horas!!!!. Si quieres quedarte hasta las 12, otros 40 euros. Las dudas por teléfono te las resuelve alguien en una centralita que no tiene ni idea de qué le estás contando. Al llegar estaba mal la dirección y nadie de esa centralita supo ayudarnos rápidamente. Es una pena porque es un alojamiento de 10 pero el trato es de empresa gigante que no atiende a ninguna petición del cliente.

El piso y la urbanización son una maravilla. También la persona que te atiende al llegar.
