Secluded, Cozy Cottage in the Shenandoah Valley
About this cottage rental
Escape to our comfortable and well appointed cottage in the mountains. This one bedroom one bath with additional loft is the perfect retreat. The spacious deck is ideal for sipping coffee in the morning, reading and napping in the afternoon and star gazing at night. The property sits on over 90 acres to explore and a hot tub to soak in after. There are beautiful hiking trails a few steps from the cottage and the famous Skyline Drive is just a 20 minute drive away. There are several beautiful wineries a few miles from the cottage. Enjoy the evenings by the fire pit (we have wood available for you). We also have a wood burning fire place for chilly nights and a gas grill for your convenience. The cottage has free wifi (Starlink!) and a smart TV. There are 2 towns close by for provisioning, shopping and meals out. We have a generator that will automatically turn on and power the entire cottage in case there is a power outage. Peace and quiet with all the comforts of home. Like us, you won’t want to leave. Please be aware that we do have a security camera located on the upper deck that is pointed at the driveway and one at the entry door.

I had a great stay and everything about this place was great - location, cleanliness and ease of check in/check out. If you are looking to getaway and spend a few days hiking or in the woods - this is a great option!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The fireplace, hot tub and overall serenity of the property were just what we needed for a relaxing weekend! We also enjoyed the hiking trails on the property…wonderful views! Thanks for sharing your lovely place!

The cottage was cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed hiking and taking in the view. The cabin is secluded but only a few miles from town. We enjoyed a local brewery and distillery while exploring the area. Would definitely stay again!

Had a lovely relaxing stay in your cabin, just what we needed to recharge! So comfortable and inviting, we had everything we needed to make for a quiet getaway. Visit to Box office Brewery and Luray Caverns were fun. Thank you!

This was the perfect getaway for a weekend trip with my partner. The house was decorated beautifully. The indoor fire place was great in heating the place up quickly (it was 50 degrees inside when we arrived). We also enjoyed the hot tub outside during the brisk evenings. Place was clean and the owner was quick to respond when we had questions. We would definitely return!

This was a really beautiful and clean property, secluded in the woods. My husband and I enjoyed a bonfire, laying on the hammock and drinking our coffee outside in the morning. The lift is really cute but I would advise anyone with young kids it’s pretty high (about a 10ft climb up a ladder). Our kids would have been frightened by the height. I would definitely come stay again. The owners did a great job with the place.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the National park and coming home to this cottage every night. It was a perfect place for the two of us to unwind after hitting the trails each day.

We had a great time and really enjoyed our weekend trip for our anniversary. The house was just the right size for the two of us. Very spacious bathroom and cute little kitchen/living room. The hot tub was great to relax in after a long day. The fire place came in handy the one day it was cold and rainy. The furnishings were very nice and we loved the way the house was decorated. There was plenty to do in the area when we felt like venturing out. It was a perfect place to relax and recharge.

We had a fantastic time away. Lots to see in the area or just relaxing on the deck. Hot tub felt great after a long day exploring. Place was gorgeous and very clean. Definitely will be booking another stay!

If you are looking for a nice and quite place to just escape for the weekend, please visit this cottage. I bought my person here for his birthday, we both have busy lives and just wanted to escape and enjoy some quiet time. This place offered all of that and more. We would stay here again, the host was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed/

A hidden gem in the mountains.. not only were the hosts amazing, but went above and beyond to make sure their guests are comfortable and taken care of. Between the wildlife that you see in the yard, including deer right up towards the house, to how quiet and serene it is. Your close to 2 towns, Winchester is 30 min away, and Strasburg is 15 min from the house. If you love antiquing, I would suggest going into downtown strasburg to The Emporium. It is a cafe/bookstore/antique store. Wear comfy shoes, it is massive and a lot of cool finds!! If your hungry, afterwards check out Crabby Maggie’s. Amazing seafood dishes, the owner is such a sweet guy. Or check out the Brewery right in town. A lot of different things to do around the area including a battlefield to check out… We will defiantly be back for another relaxing weekend!

This cottage is the cutest place ever. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. It is very secluded, and right in the middle of nature, so my husband really enjoyed going out on the porch every morning and taking in the view. The cottage was also very nicely decorated. Our stay was short, so we didn't need much from the owners. However, whenever we were communicating with the owners, the response was lightning fast. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend here!

We loved staying at this cottage! It was clean and private, and the features were higher end (great shower, modern kitchen, etc). Clearly well cared for. We loved sitting out on the porch and relaxing in the hot tub. Cons are the bed frame was very squeaky. There were some bugs, the trails were kind of overgrown, and the internet was a little weak, but that is to expected in the country. Overall we loved it and would totally come back. Very peaceful retreat with good hosts.

This cottage was amazing. The views were just as amazing. You could see the mountains from the porch and watch the rain clouds as they came in. It was nice and cozy and everything you would want for a couples little getaway.

Clean and quaint, perfect for a romantic getaway for our 15th anniversary. Breathtaking views to enjoy from the hot tub, and a quick jaunt away from a charming small town. Will be booking again!

My wife and I had an absolutely amazing stay at the secluded cozy cottage! Everything was brand new and nicely decorated, the property seemed to be newly constructed. The mountain views from the main deck were breathtaking. The trails on the property were one of the highlights for us and we enjoyed having such direct access to the top of the mountain. And of course, the hot tub was the perfect way to end the day of hiking at other nearby trails. The only constructive feedback I'd offer would be to upgrade the main queen mattress & frame to match the rest of the high end finishes, it was a bit on the stiff side. But otherwise a fabulous experience, would highly recommend!

A lovely, serene house perfect for a weekend away. The furnishings were great and the kitchen was very well stocked. There were some ladybugs, but I grew up in a rural area and I know that’s common and almost impossible to prevent completely. The owners made it an extremely smooth check in process and provided lots of information about the area, from trail maps to restaurant menus. I’m hoping to come back in a few months to see the pollinator garden in bloom!

This cottage was adorable. It was the perfect place for my boyfriend and I to get away to and enjoy a peaceful relaxing weekend. The amenities were above what was expected. The property was secluded and the trails were a great way to get out and explore. Definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our two days in the mountains. The cottage was wonderful - cozy and well appointed. We made use of the fireplace and the hot tub both days. We also took advantage of the hiking trails on the property and climbed to the top of the ridge, which was challenging but worth it. The TV signal wasn't very reliable (the internet relies on a dish and there was think cloud cover during our stay) but we didn't mind as it just helped us to unplug. The one thing we weren't prepared for was a lack of coffee. The cottage comes with a drip machine and some pantry items but coffee wasn't one of them and we didn't bring our own. If you don't want to miss out on your morning coffee ritual, be sure to bring your own. The towns of Strasburg and Woodstock were wonderful to explore and we'd love to return in the future. Definitely recommend this quiet cottage for anyone looking for a cozy experience and a chance to get away from it all.

The home is absolutely gorgeous and cozy! It is not too far from town and offers so much peace. The description and pictures are accurate. There were bugs, but they are all harmless (ladybugs, flies, etc). We would definitely come back just to stay at this home again!

The secluded cottage with all the things you could possibly need. The drive in is gorgeous, especially in the late fall with colorful trees. If you have a slightly higher sitting car, I recommend on the gravel, however it's definitely not necessary. It's close enough to town centers if you need to grab something, but the cottage is stocked with things you may have forgotten. Overall, an outstanding place to stay.

The property is beautiful and the house has everything you could need. It is away from everything but an easy drive to towns and recreation areas. We had a wonderful time- even though it rained the whole weekend. This is a unique and beautiful place to stay!

Secluded Escape
Beautiful secluded mountain side cottage. Very nice kitchen area. Cozy and comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Relaxing 2nd floor porch for morning coffee and book reading. Great hiking right off the porch. Close by to several cute towns with good restaurants and wineries. Great mountain side getaway!
