We had an absolutely delightful week. It was everything I had hoped from my first try at a VRBO vacation. The location was spectacular - views of the mountains & woods out of every window. The accommodations were very spacious & comfortable. There were five of us - with the mother-in-law suite as a quiet retreat we had plenty of room. The weather was chilly enough that we didn't spend much time outside, but I made a point of stepping out on the deck every night before retiring - the peace & quiet, with just the sound of the creek below & stunning views of the stars overhead was perfect. The location gave us access to both Asheville & the Smokies, but frankly I would have been content to not venture anywhere, it was so nice where we were. As advertised, supplies & kitchen furnishings were adequate for a weekend stay. I might advise anyone intending a longer stint, as we did, to plan on bringing more of their own tools (baking/cooking pots & pans, casseroles, measuring etc) - but the basics were certainly covered. Access was a bit tricky - narrow, winding & steep mountain road, but the driving instructions were spot-on to get us there, & though I was glad we had front-wheel drive, as promised we were ok w/out 4-wheel drive. We may have been pushing it this late in the season - I don't think I would want to try the steep parts if the roads were snowy, icy or slick. But having been there once, I would go for it again - so worth it! And rental staff super helpful & responsive!

We loved the house, the mother in law quarters were perfect for my brother who turned 80 years old during this trip. He had privacy, but also close to mingle with us when he wanted. Teen granddaughter and 8 year old sister loved the twin room with their own bath. Our small dogs loved the big yard. Would definitely stay here again.

Love this place. It's a cozy cottage nestled in the woods. Nothing but trees, mountain views and the sound of rushing water. We hiked from the house to both the Pinnacle trail and Black rock. 30 min drive to some of the best white water rafting in NC. Not our first time staying here and won't be our last.

My husband and I stayed here for a long anniversary weekend. It is very relaxing and house is very nice. The gas logs in the living room were my favorite. I would most definitely stay here again.

We had such a great vacation. It was really neat that the place had a view and a trickling stream. I enjoyed playing the electric piano and we love using the fire pit. This this was one of the best stays we've had in the mountains.

This property was secluded and up a steep gravel drive as advertised. What was missed was that there was only one good shower for a house that can hold 7 people. The master bedroom has a lovely soaking tub but no shower. We are a close family and shared the other shower but it would be awkward with multiple families
