About this house rental
Incredible custom home is ready to be your secluded island getaway. Walk across a bridge and over a pond to get to the front door, which opens out to a breathtaking view of Mitchell Bay and beyond! An open concept great room connects living room, dining area and gourmet kitchen in this designer showcase house. BBQ and eat outdoors while watching beautiful sunsets over the bay. This home features a water facing master bedroom with steam shower and soaking tub. Two additional bedrooms share a large bathroom with double sinks and separate tub and shower. On the lower level, a water facing family room, attached 3/4 bath, and private deck. Outside the home you will find a large secluded and relaxing hot tub as well as a nearby fire pit. Outside security cameras are installed on property. There is a walking path that descends to a private community beachfront where you can dig for clams, sunbathe or picnic. (Property in compliance with San Juan County vacation rental regulations. Vacation Rental Permit PPROV0-11-0001.)

Great property, our host David was very responsive. Kitchen is well-stocked and home was neat and clean. Lots of fun features to the home. The view from the house is spectacular.
Trail to the water is a little steep. No beach but the property has a great dock and the bay is great to kayak and paddle board in. Good home for adults and teenagers. Anyone staying here will have a wonderful experience!

Our family of five stayed at Mar Vista for a week in July. Everything was just as listed and the house was fantastic. The property owner, David, was in contact often, supplied discounted ferry tickets, and met us at check-in to show us around. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed for the week. If you like to cook meals for the group, you’re going to love the kitchen. The beds were comfortable, the downstairs was like a second living area/master bedroom, and the deck was a great place to relax. We would not hesitate to book more visits with David at Mar Vista.

My family and I totally enjoyed our stay at this stunning home. It is large, on a gorgeous lot overlooking the water, and equipped with every conceivable amenity. Wonderful communication with the owner/property manager, who was incredibly helpful both before and during our stay. Would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting to stay on San Juan Island!

The house is awesome and the managers were wonderful to work with, and even gave us a tour of the house and its features. The spacious and well appointed kitchen was wonderful to prepare food in. The main living area was well furnished for lots of relaxation and fun, such as family playing board games. The hot tub was easy to access and definitely a hit for us. I just can't say enough good things about this place and the people who run it. It was also close to many sights, restaurants and shops. In all, this place comes with my strongest recommendation for a good time on San Juan Island.

This property was incredible! The kitchen alone had so much to offer. There was so much dish ware, cookware, and appliances, not like some places where you only get one frying pan. The views are incredible. The owners take so much pride in this place and really cares about the guest. We had great contact before arriving and helped us sort out the ferry. When we arrived at the property, he showed us around and checked the hot tub chemicals while we were there to make sure everything was good to go. Everything was very clean, he checked in by text a couple times through our stay and was amazing. Cannot say enough wonderful things about this property!!

Booked this property for our family of 6 (2 adults/4 kiddos) for 5 days over Spring Break, having stayed in 20+ VRBOs over the past handful of years this property ranks up there as one of the best! Was better than described, everything you/you family could need for a comfortable, high-value stay,. Top that all off with a highly personable walkthrough with David coupled with his recommendations of things to do/see around the island and you’re guaranteed a fantastic time! Mar Vista is the perfect place for a getaway in the San Juan Islands. The house is as listed and more. David gave us a tour of the place as well as recommendations on the island. Would definitely stay here again!

We all enjoyed this oversized home with the most spacious deck, perfect for sunset dinners outside. Loved kayaking around the bay right from the house. This house is stocked with literally everything you could possibly need. David went above and beyond with helpful itinerary information, ferry discounts, and all other communications. You’d be foolish to pass up this property!!

We truly do not have enough positive things to say about our trip. It was honestly perfect and David did everything in his power to make that possible for us. We are 6 ladies that have been friends since high school and decided to spend the year we turned 60 vacationing together. We couldn't have chosen a better location. Before we even arrived, David went out of his way to make sure our trip was perfect. The house was incredible, just beautiful, and in the most incredibly peaceful setting. The kitchen was a cook's dream-everything you needed or wanted was provided. The hardest part about the house was getting out of bed in the mornings because the beds were so incredibly comfortable-better than a 5-star hotel. We were there on the hottest day of the year and even without AC, we stayed extremely comfortable. Truly, David and this incredible house made a bunch of 60-year-old ladies' dreams come true! Thank you Thank you- We will be back.

AMAZING STAY, AMAZING LOCATION
We had an incredible week here on San Juan Island!! The house was an amazing base for us to spend time when we weren't out exploring. Everything was as expected and the host was very accommodating. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to SJI.

Perfect property
Beautiful and quiet location; incredible amenities; well-stocked kitchen; lovely view; and easy access to hiking and other adventures. Loved the kayaks, lounging in the hot tub or sitting next to the fire. I would definitely go back. Thanks to Dave for being super hospitable, great communicator, and welcoming presence.

The house is even more beautiful than in the photos both inside and out. The floor plan was perfect for everyone, including two teens, to both have their own space and comfortably hang out as a family.
The kitchen was extremely well stocked and had everything that we needed to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner.
Finally, David was a pleasure to work with and was helpful both prior to and during our trip. We definitely hope that we can come back and experience this house in the summer.

Safe, comfortable, and beautiful property
Prior to the trip, David (brother of property owner?) provided lots of information about how to get to the island and activities. Once we arrived, he escorted our group from Friday Harbor to the house as it was night time and showed us around the house. We found all of that very helpful. The house and furnishings are super comfortable in a peaceful surrounding. Everyone in our group wants to return to the house.

Very well appointed from the fabulous kitchen to the Alpacas that welcomed us home everyday. I think we may have had luck on our side but we saw Orcas twice! We could not have been more pleased.

We were very fortunate to spend 9 days in this beautiful home. My husband and I were joined by our 2 adult sons and our 16 yr old grandson for our annual family vacation and it was our favorite! Mar Vista exceeded all of our expectations. It is in a lovely and quiet location with stunning bay views. The landscaping is gorgeous and tranquil.
We hiked everywhere, and did some island hopping but our favorite part was returning to this amazing home to hang out on the deck, watch the sunset, cook fantastic meals together in the huge custom kitchen, soak in the hot tub and our evening fireside chats on the patio:)
Our host David was just the best ever! He is super kind and made everything easy from start to finish, thank you so much David! We hope to return next year.

Fantastic spot for a family gathering
This home is incredibly well equipped and comfortable. The setting is beautiful and calm. We had a family reunion of sorts and cooked every night and the kitchen is amazing! Would strong recommend and would definitely book again if we come back with a large group.

Gorgeous home
Beautiful property would love to go in the summer when the island is open to more activities. We did enjoy a winter hike and the home was a beautiful spot to watch the winter rain storms by the fire. Gourmet kitchen was wonderful to make family meals during the pandemic.
