We had a reunion of seven couples that have been boating together for many years. The house was perfect for this event. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, the dining room accommodated us nicely and the living rooms were a great place to sit and talk. Everyone had their own bedroom and there were plenty of bathrooms for us. We all enjoyed our stay, not a complaint from anyone.

The house is lovely and so close to everything in Mystic. The kitchen is terrific and had everything we needed for preparing a thanksgiving meal.

Wonderful stay with family and friends in Mystic for wedding celebrations. Our guests came from different parts of the country, arriving and departing at different times. Quick walk to town for shopping and munching. Our host were most pleasant and accommodating. Always making sure that we had what we needed and making sure we were comfortable. We had 12 sleepers for a few nights and room for everyone. The beds were very comfortable! I could go on and on about this special house. So historic and beautiful! You won’t regret a stay here in Mystic Charles Mallory house!

I cannot begin to express how happy we were with the rental of the Charles Mallory home. Your perfectly appointed rental was an exceptional location for our son's wedding weekend. Our family felt absolutely comfortable and right at home. The house had everything I needed to entertain my son's wedding party for a "Night Before" dinner and a brunch for the groomsmen the morning of the wedding.
The beautiful patio and fountain all added a picturesque background for all our festivities. I can't wait to see all the photos and I will be sure to share them.
The location only 1 block from downtown Mystic added to the appeal and charm of the home. When there was some downtime we walked downtown enjoying many of the shops, restaurants and bars Mystic has to offer. My grandchildren loved the park and the harbor both walking distance from the house.
Communication with the hosts was easy and they were quick to respond to our questions.
We loved this property so much we are considering renting again next year around the holidays so we can spend some time together as a family.
Many thanks to Lynn and Glen. We couldn't have asked more accommodating hosts and such an absolutely beautiful home to celebrate our wedding weekend.

This house is perfect for a larger group. The location in Mystic is perfect for visiting the quaint downtown area of Mystic. The house is very well stocked, the owner/host communicates very quickly. They are very kind, there was wine and fresh cookies waiting for us when we arrived, along with some water bottles in the refrigerator. The beds are comfortable, the area is quiet at night for good sleeping. We recommend this house for a fun & convenient stay in Mystic!

The house and location were perfect. All the amenities for a wonderful stay, within walking distance of downtown and a short drive to the wedding venue (Inn at Mystic). A great home for the extended family to gather, would highly recommend while staying in Mystic.

Just stayed at Charles Mallory house for 4 nights with 3 families, that included 6 boys under 5. The house is spacious and clean, with ample towels and a very well stocked kitchen. The backyard was perfect for keeping our kids entertained. We could walk to so many cafes, restaurants, and a playground within just a few min. Would highly recommend this stay!

My family and I stayed here for a long weekend. It was beautiful! The home was spacious with historical and modern features. The backyard was perfect for the younger children to run around. The location was perfect. It accommodated a wide age range. Just a walk away from the center of Mystic and an adorable gated playground. The beach was only about a 15 minute drive. You will love it here!

We (3 generations of family) came back for a repeat visit to this amazing house. Beautiful space indoors and out, with comfy areas for eating, hanging out and playing games. The location is terrific--walkable to the drawbridge and seaport museum. And communication with the hosts is great--they provided restaurant suggestions and were easy to reach with questions.

Stayed in this beautiful home for 6 nights mid-July 2023 with friends and family. It was the perfect place to come together from California, Michigan and Connecticut and spend quality time together. The location can't be beat. The size and comfort of the home allowed for everyone to have their own space.
We loved our time playing games in the backyard, grilling and dining in the side yard and sitting on the front porch with a coffee or a cocktail watching the people go by.
The added bonus of watching the mama duck and her ducklings in the yard was the cherry on top.
Hoping we will be back soon.

We stayed at the historic Charles Mallory home while attending a wedding in Mystic as a family of 13. We loved the layout, expanse and beauty of the home including the large patio and backyard. In addition the location in town made it easy for everyone to go their different way each day without a lot of driving. Would highly recommend this beautiful home to my friends!

Our daughter got married this weekend and I wanted a perfect spot for my family to stay. This historic and beautiful home did not disappoint. As my family told me, I got an A+ on choosing a beautiful home in a perfect location. We especially enjoyed the lovely outdoor space and well-equipped kitchen. The fresh flowers and delicious chocolate chip cookies were enjoyed by all. I 100% recommend this gorgeous property! Fabulous on every level! Hats off to our hosts!

I highly recommend this amazing property for your next vacation or even as a destination for your next family reunion.
My sister and I rented this beautiful home with our families to celebrate a wedding at nearby Saltwater Vineyards. There was plenty of space, indoors and outdoors, for the two sets of parents and grown children (11 in total). The kitchen was well-stocked with many amenities that made preparing meals a pleasure and we all fit comfortably around the dining room table with ample china, glasses and silverware for all. We catered dinner one night from a local Italian restaurant and the full trays of food fit comfortably in the ovens to stay warm.
The outdoor space feels like a park with a beautiful fountain, lots of tables with umbrellas and soft weating for large groups. The porch swing suspended from a huge tree in the side yard was a perfect place for a quiet chat. The location is truly ideal and allowed everyone to explore downtown Mystic on foot on their own schedule with no cars needed.
Thank you Lynn and Skip for providing a setting and experience that exceeded our expectations.

This a great, historic house in a central location with terrific and helpful hosts. Our family group of 14 people appreciated everything about — from the great space, beautiful patio and yard to the thoughtful touches by Lynn, the host. Highly recommend it for family groups or groups of friends.

The Charles Mallory House provided us the perfect in-town Mystic location to host our large family for the 142nd USCGA Commencement Exercises. We rented the home for 5 days to provide a comfortable central gathering place, and it delivered. Our guests were amazed at what the home offered for comfort, easy visiting, photo opportunities, a home cooked meal, and walking and dining options in Mystic.
The house’s amenities were extensive. Modern renovated bathrooms, and kitchen were appreciated and used extensively. The fully stocked kitchen had every utensil, tableware, serving platter, glassware, crockpot we could make use of during our stay. We used he patio and patio fire pit a few times. The extended the size of the house for gathering comfortably.
The long driveway was a plus because it easily accommodated 6 cars, and we didn’t need to search for street parking in busy Mystic. Another example of how easy it was to stay at CM House.
Finally, the owners were an absolute pleasure to work with throughout. We communicated regularly, leading up to our stay, helping us to be completely oriented about the property upon arrival. Consequently, we were motivated to be good stewards of this fine, beautiful historic home. They offered to fly a Coast Guard flag for us, while there. Much appreciated!
I can’t say enough good things about this house.
Thank you!

Our son got married in Mystic, and we had 11 family members stay at The Charles Mallory House. The history of this home was delightful, and we felt like we really were immersed in the New England shipping world during our long weekend. The groomsmen had their photographs taken at our house the morning of the wedding. The fountain, carriage house, front porch, and tree swing were just perfect backdrops. The large kitchen was ideal for meals, and the dining room table was useful for family reminiscing and chatter. The only odd thing about the house is the bedroom configuration and the bathrooms. You need to walk through another bedroom to get to a shower. That said, since we were all family, we enjoyed the quirkiness and simply planned ahead. The steep stairway at the back of the house, although not doable for anyone elderly or a toddler, we thought was kind of fun. There are a few stairs to enter the home which were a little bit of a challenge for our elderly in-laws, but with assistance, they were able to climb them. 100% clean and tidy...you won't regret renting this amazing house. And the yummy cookies and champagne were certainly appreciated as a greeting. Thanks for a memorable weekend! We can't wait to see the professional photographs.

This was the perfect rental for a group of 10 for a mini family reunion. The location could not have been better, walking distance to everything Mystic has to offer. The house was beautiful and well maintained. We loved all of the historic details provided about this amazing and charming 200 year old house. More than enough space for our group - the patio was a highlight for sure. Everything we needed was provided in the kitchen and bathrooms. And the owners were so attentive leading up to our stay with suggestions for restaurants and activities. We look forward to coming back to mystic and staying at the Charles Mallory house again.

Perfect location for a large group visiting Mystic. Property is as described and suited our 15 family members (teens to 60+) perfectly. Everyone commented on how great it was to be able to gather in such a wonderful place…not just a house, but an old home with lots of history. Plenty of public space but also has room to retreat for more quiet time. It’s quirky, a fun. homey kind of place that makes you say “what’s behind that door?”
Features we especially liked include location (walk to everything), the huge very well equipped modern kitchen, large dining room, comfortable bedrooms with good linens, plenty of nice towels (and a good hot water supply), lots of bathrooms, a basket of blankets to ward off a chill while enjoying the amazing patio. Owner communication was also a really big plus. I felt very comfortable renting this house from the time I reserved it.
Keep in mind that it is a very old house. If you are put off by uneven floors or creaks or an interior door that maybe doesn’t close all the way, this house may not be for you. Also, even though there is a bedroom on the ground floor, you need to be able to navigate stairs to access the house.

This beautiful home was perfect for our family of 10. It had everything we needed and was within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Thank you, Skip and Lynn, for your warm hospitality!

We stayed at this absolutely perfect home to celebrate our daughters wedding at Stone Acres Farm. The location couldn't be better. The lovely historic home and outdoor patio with plenty of seating made entertaining a breeze.
The kitchen was well equipped for gatherings - from plenty of utensils, plates, glassware, even coffee urns and an extra folding table and linens which made hosting a small brunch after the wedding easy. We have rented many homes in the past and I have never been in a home so well equipped. There were plenty of towels, linens and the really comfortable beds were a PLUS!
Lynn and Skip were helpful and gracious hosts in helping us to navigate caterers and things to do. Paddle boards, kayaks and life jackets also available.
We hope to come back. THANK YOU!

Stayed in this historic house with all the modern amenities for my daughter's wedding in Stonington. This is an awesome house - spent most of our time outside on the patio hosting family and friends. Nothing bad to say! The perfect place to tie in Mystic and the area with the wedding. You won't find a better place in the around! And it is on the east side of the bridge so getting to Stonington was a breeze - despite it being the Mystic art festival.

We had such a wonderful time in Mystic and the house and yard were beautiful. There were so many spots to congregate and enjoy. We also couldn't have been happier with the hosts who responded so quickly to any questions we had about the house or area. We highly recommend this beautifully restored historical home.

Our stay was as amazing as last year's stay. Maybe even better and that's saying a lot. Such a beautiful home and the location can't be beat. The hosts, Lynn and Glenn are wonderful. Refer to our last review posted 8/25/21 after our stay last summer for more details. Once you stay here, you will want to return, again and again!!

Best VRBO Mystic House and Owners
Beautiful historic home perfectly located in the heart of Mystic. We attended a family wedding and had 3-10 people staying at the house at different nights from Thu-Mon. The remainder of our family stayed at the Whaler Inn - which is beautiful. However, the house was the perfect meeting place for all of the family and everyone thought it a much better experience and price than the hotel. We loved it and the owners!

Ideal Days in Mystic
My friends and I have taken vacations together for years. What began as four families of 8 adults has grown to 8 adults and 7 children, all under the age of 8. The house provided more than enough rooms and beds, and the yard gave space for the kids to play. The location could not have been more ideal, with all restaurants, shops, and playgrounds within walking distance for a 3 year old. We could not have found a more ideal house, and hope to be back for years to come.

Lovely home, great experience
We had a great experience staying in this lovely and historic home! Our families were in town for a wedding and this house was large enough to accommodate all of us. The owners were very nice and gave great recommendations for restaurants, activities, a good hair salon, and even helped find a crib rental for our little one. The house is nicely located and only a short walk to the bridge, shops, and restaurants. Everything was very clean and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this house and would not hesitate to stay here again.

A great property to get the family together
We rented this great house in connection with our son's wedding, well ahead of the actual date. While we didn't know exactly how many people would be able to come, we were certainly hoping that it would be able to accommodate our group size. And we weren't disappointed. The house has plenty of room, is well furnished, and some historical quirks that make it quite charming. It's also within a short walk to the shops and restaurants in Mystic which is a great feature.
We would definitely rent it again, especially in the summer months when there is a lot of buzz in the area.

Historic Charm, Modern Amenities
Stay here, you’ll love it. The charm of this house can’t be captured in pictures.
My bride-to-be and I recently stayed here with some of our wedding party. There has clearly been a LOT of effort put into maintaining and updating this historic property.
While maintaining its charm, the large kitchen and bathrooms are all completely modern. Also, the plush towels were appreciated by all. We had 13 people at the house. There was no issue getting showered in the mornings, and there was plenty of seating on the patio or in the living room to relax at night.
Location wise, you’re a short walk to a number of restaurants and the house is off a main road, so things are nice and quiet at night. Can’t be beat.
