Location and clean

No air conditioning- I would expect this ad standard in a 4* hotel. It was very hot in a small attic room and the fan had little impact on cooling the room . Furthermore, the sloping ceiling took out a lot of space- more than the photos imply. We are not particularly tall and we hit our heads on the slope several times whilst accessing the fridge and coffee machine. If we were a larger couple this room would have been very hot , uncomfortable and oppressively small.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was wonderful and the proximity to get to the „city“ is ideal. Bus number 4 leaves right outside the hotel to the station. O

If I’m being picky, I didn’t much like the shower. You couldn’t turn the show head, so you kind of had to hold it. We were on the top floor with the beams. The bathroom is very modern and new!

Le Sauvage is a beautiful, authentic old building with a lot of character. The location in the lower Old Town of Fribourg is truly charming — very picturesque, with the church nearby and the bells ringing, which actually did not disturb us. The hotel was impeccably clean, and the staff were very kind and welcoming. We also appreciated the free public transport ticket for the city, and the bus stop is conveniently located right in front of the hotel.

The breakfast costs CHF 25 per person, which we found quite expensive. We decided not to take it, as there are many nice places in the city where you can have a very good breakfast for CHF 7–12.
