Lissanisky House

Everything was perfect. The hosts were delightful and everything in this beautiful home is first class. There is an eye for detail. A beautiful environment. Like stepping back in time to a gracious period. For breakfast brought to our door. A wonderful total experience.

We didn’t have enough time there! Nothing to dislike.

Entering from the treelined driveway and walking through the front door, it feels like you stepped onto the set of a fairytale movie. Our room at the top of the stairs was amazing, with the most comfortable 4 poster bed, a huge bathroom with a claw foot tub for soaking the chill away after a long day of travel, and the view of the countryside can't be beat. The collection of furnishings throughout the house feels timeless. We were treated to afternoon tea in the sitting room while listening to soft music before heading out to a recommended tavern for dinner. A traditional Irish breakfast was delivered to our room the next morning with enthusiasm, including eggs, sausage, black and white pudding, coffee, and juice. We talked with both owners at various times; just a charming couple who clearly have taken pride in this venture and were very welcoming to their home.

Had I known what we discovered, I would have planned to stay longer than 1 night. It was hard to leave!

The breakfast was cooked to perfection. Loved the touch of the offer of a cup of tea on arrival. Thanks for the homemade Lemon shortbread.

Beautiful period house close to Nenagh. Obviously lovingly cared for and restored by the owners (who live on the second floor). Lovely hallway and sitting room. Appears to be 4 large bedrooms with en suite on first floor. Owners/staff (cleaner) very unobtrusive. You order breakfast the evening before and it is delivered to your door at your requested time (it is left outside door and they knock on door, so no intrusion into your space!). We arrived early as going to a wedding and were allowed to our room to change. Breakfast excellent - had a 'full Irish' with fresh fruit salad, orange juice and tea. Minor quibble is no marmalade with the breakfast and no-one to ask for it - but that is very minor. We met the owners (ian and Orla) only in passing - very friendly but very unobtrusive. It is a great location for Nenagh / Loch Derg. We were going to a wedding in Ashley Park House, and most guests were staying at a bigger hotel in Nenagh - but all were very jealous when we chatted the next day and realised that they were staying in a 'not so great' hotel and we stayed in a lovely house! We will definitely return. Highly recommended. Conor & John

Very little! Perhaps tea leaves in a teapot (rather than tea bag) and marmalade with the breakfast - but these are VERY minor quibbles as otherwise all superb!
