The setting is very peaceful, hearing birdsong was wonderful. The property is of a decent size, great for couples or max up to two children. Any more and you’d be on top of each other.
The water from the showers was scolding hot, no matter what we tried, we couldn’t get the temperature down. Having a bath was equally as bad, resorted to using a large saucepan to putting cold water into the bath as there is no cold tap on the bath!
Also on a sunny day, the place was extremely hot, no fans or aircon option, reading the guest book, it would appear lots I have had the same experience with the cabin being too hot in summer months.

Great place to stay for a family with kids or couples. Communication was good and the hosts are really nice. The presence of 2 bathrooms is a huge bonus. The living room is spacious and on site parking is good to have. The place was clean with tons of books. It's also well located for exploring nearby south Wales or English countryside. Good place for the price paid.
The place got really warm in the evenings even with 26 degrees outside. The kitchen, and especially the oven, needs an upgrade. The kitchen equipment and tools available felt a bit random.

The location is great! You can easily reach a lot of beautiful locations and it's close be several shops.
The Lodge works well for families and the toys and books were a nice touch.
Our stay at the Lodge was disappointing due to the lack of cleanliness. My daughter discovered a used earplug in one of the single beds, which was unacceptable. The carpet and windows were both dusty and sticky, and I found black hair in the bath.
I had to wash all the crockery before using it, and even after placing it in the dishwasher, I had to re-wash everything because they were still covered in food residue.
To make matters worse, when I tried to prepare toast for my daughter in the morning, smoke started coming out of the toaster. Upon inspection, I realized it was full of melted cheese!
When I contacted the owners about these issues, their response was dismissive. They simply asked, “What do you expect me to do?” When I requested a replacement toaster, I was told, “I don’t have a spare one.”
