The location was great, just a few minutes walk from bars, restaurants, shops etc in Whitby (at the top of the town, so downhill to the harbour and beach). The apartment was ideal for a couple, nice bedding and towels provided and the place was clean. It was comfortable for a short stay. The owners provided a local parking permit which saved what would have been expensive parking charges.
It's a basement flat so a bit dark & gloomy in the living area. The spiral staircase up to the bedroom wasn't the easiest to navigate with luggage. Although spacious enough the bedroom didn't have any shelving or surfaces to put things on - we had to manage with cases on the floor - not ideal. The icebox in the fridge was totally unusable - frozen solid.

Perfect location for the bustling town one way and the beach the other.
There is a washing machine, but no where to dry the clothes that we could figure out.
