Great place close to tropical nature 🐦‍⬛🦆🐒🦋🦜

It was wonderful stay in the center of nature, the farm in the tropical forest. I fully recommend it. Very nice family, super food: breakfast and dinner. Great place to be closer when you travel to Tortuguero.

Wundrrschönes Bungalow aus Holz mit Palmblätterdach

Ich liebte das sehr geschmackvoll und vollständig aus Naturmaterialien vom Besitzer selber gebaute kleine Bungalow mitten in der Natur. Das Frühstück nimmt man im Patio der Besitzerfamilie ein . Ich war zwei Nächte dort und liebte es. Für alle welche von San Jose auf dem Weg zur Karibikküste sind und die Strecke nicht an einem einzigen Tsg machen wollen ein idealer Zwischenaufenthalt.

Anfahrtsstrasse etwas holprig. Kein wlan im Bungalow, aber im Haupthaus der Besitzerfamilie tiptop.

Sehr liebevoll mit Auge fürs Detail eingerichtet —>schönes Licht, frische Blumen, Pflegeprodukte, Mosquitonetz (hübscher als auf den Fotos) Sehr freundliche Inhaber, Küchen- und Communitybereich außen, hausgemachte Pancakes, kleiner Wandertrack direkt vom Gelände zugänglich, nah an der Natur

Toilette und Schlafzimmer sind nicht durch eine Tür abgetrennt, Zufahrt etwas beschwerlich

Estancia de cuento

El alojamiento está un pelin apartado por un camino lo que le hace estar en un sitio idílico. Los dueños maravillosos, amables, disponibles y con un desayuno buenísimo. Si van a pasar por Guapiles no pierdan la oportunidad de pasar por allí. La cabaña con todas las comodidades necesarias y absolutamente preciosa. Muy recomendable.

Top Unterkunft auf dem Weg nach La Pavona!

Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Er hat uns zum Frühstück fantastische Pancakes zubereitet und und uns Tipps für einen kurzen Spaziergang durch den direkt angrenzenden Regenwald genannt. Das Bungalow ist liebevoll und wirklich schön gestaltet. Kolibris sitzen direkt vor dem Fenster auf den Blüten!

Aufenthalt auf der Poponé Farm und Lodge

Herrliche Hütte in total ruhiger Lage, Frühstück sehr gut, fast alles aus eigener Herstellung (Jogurt, Milch, Eier, Obst...), sehr netter Gastgeber, immer bemüht, noch mit zusätzlichen Infos zu helfen.

Wonderful place, great atmosphere en friendly host! The family has a keen eye for detail and the accommodation is very clean. Beautiful nature and lots of animals. Breakfast was also delicious.

Beautiful lodges surrounded by nature Homemade breakfast with ingredients from their farm Hosts organised for someone to come give us massages Hosts called to order us takeaways (as we had arrived after nightfall)

Bumpy, muddy road to access but we made it in easily with a 4x4

Perfect local experience in nature 🤩, worth your while

We stayed in 7 different places in Costa Rica and this was our favorite!! The place in incredible, in the middle of nature. The room is a cabin extremely well planned and curated. The hosts are a family that lives nearby and is incredibly helpful (they offered to pick our delivery dinner since they were already heading to town 🥹). Breakfast is with fruit they grow to n the property, and homemade yogurt and pancakes. We loved the whole experience. Worth a detour for sure!!!

Marvelous - the home made goat yoghurt in the morning is a delight

The room and facilities were perfect with George being the perfect host, helping us navigate our first days in the region. The property and juggle walk were outstanding for birdwatching, seeing monkeys and the three-toed sloths provided the best views of our whole trip to Costa Rica.. Papone is a hidden gem and we would definitely look to stay there again when we are in the area.

Beautiful lodge in a serene setting

Very nice little lodge in a quiet area. Beautifully decorated with a lot of attention to detail. Friendly owners and nice pancake breakfast.

Nothing to mention, but you should know it's located on a rather bumpy dirt road, which is fine, but takes a little longer to get to.

the location is suuuper stunning! not the most touristy, but that’s why I think it’s very good. very nice and helpful family. beautiful triangle cabins created with lots of care and beautiful detail. the ‘mini’ Forrest trail incl river is magical in the morning… great for peace and rest!

Simple elegance on a charming and lovingly cared for farm.

Excellent location for a stop over between SJO airport and Puerto Veijo. The accomodations were beautiful - comfortable, clean and meticulously maintained. Wonderful breakfasts and delcious dinners.

There was absolutely nothing that could have been approved upon. Loved it! Thank you so much Jorge and daughter Camille!

Relaxing and peaceful. We absolutely lived it!

The breakfast was delicias. We felt right at home here. The care and attention to detail with the construction if the cabins added to the charm of this special place. We will definitely visit again. Very nice walking trail close to the river!

Tastefully designed local-style hut with sloth and hot water!

Tastefully designed accommodation in remote countryside. Straight of a house and gardens type magazine. Sloth in a tree! Hot water. Good (essential ) mossie net. Excellent breakfast. No good if you don’t like bugs! All power from a turbine in the stream!

Lovely owners who are helpful about the area and knowledgeable of the nature around them. We saw monkeys hummingbirds and a sloth the two days we were there. Great lodges and a lovely breakfast. Ideal for a stopover from San Jose to the Caribbean side.

The road leading is a gravel track a bit bumpy in places.

Lovely cabins in a calm and beautiful spot with very friendly hosts

The lodges are very cute and nicely done and the location is very peaceful. There’s a little trail that you can take though the jungle along a stream and a few cute farm animals around the property (lambs, chickens a horse etc) which might be fun if you have small kids. There’s a communal outdoor (covered) kitchen so you can prepare your own food if you bit they can also provide dinner which we had (we were given salad and a pasta dish, both fine). The host family is very friendly.

The road there is uneven and unpaved and rather rocky and in some places muddy. We made it in a low saloon car so pretty much any vehicle should be fine but you need to take it slow if you‘ve not got a 4x4 and if it’s rained a lot I would not fancy it in a saloon. The food was perfectly nice but they forgot that my partner had asked for a vegetarian meal and he was given pasta with chorizo in it which he then had to pick out. Not the end of the world though.

lovely little bed & breakfast

we stayed here overnight to break up a long drive. the place was fabulous. off the beaten track but the accommodation is excellent & the owner makes a lovely breakfast the next day

magical place

beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable little huts. the hosts are so friendly, the environment is like paradise, the breakfast was homemade and delicious. we have spent an amazing night there and will definitely come back!! thank you

Popone Farm

Very charming and well designed bungalows. Boutique hotel standard inside the bungalow, down to every detail. Home made delicious breakfast. Short jungle trail down to a stream. The owner was very friendly. Exceeded our expectations.

Road was a bit bumpy, but can be done with 2WD as well as 4WD.

Romantic cabin on the farm

Popone farm is set in a beautiful location in the countryside - quiet and peaceful. The cabin we started in was beautiful, very comfy, and had a lovely warm shower. The family were excellent hosts - very welcoming and friendly.

The cabins are very comfortable, cozy and made with love to the many wonderful details. Functionality meets stylish design! The owner surprised us with homemade ice cream and the breakfast was very good. Absolutely the best cabin we stayed in our four weeks travel. We recommend this place and would stay there again!

Fairytale place ran by lovely owners

One of the most beautiful places (if not the most beautiful) I have ever booked. Extremely nice owners who made us fall in love with this place even though it was supposed to be just a quick pit stop. We were served a great breakfast with composed of homemade. I really wish to come back there and I encourage everyone to visit this incredible place!
