Cosy, peaceful and comfortable. Felt a little bit mystical looking out on to the castle ruins. Pat and Natasha were great hosts. I liked it that all the little self catering “ extras”, such as condiments/kitchen roll etc were provided. A little gem.

Wasn’t too sure about the chemical toilet initially, but it wasn’t a problem and soon got used to it.

Location fabulous. Very comfortable bed. Perfect for a get away. Natasha’s lemon drizzle cake the best ever.

Took a while to get used to the portaloo but it was fine and emptied regularly.

Peaceful setting in the grounds of Sheriff Hutton Castle. Lovely view from the balcony, good facilities, very helpful owners and welcoming with a lovely lemon drizzle cake which was scrumptious. Would definitely recommend.

Very well appointed. The location was excellent.

There was no Wi-Fi or TV. The early morning bird chorus was very clearly heard, and the tin roof was loud when it rained. If you are happy with a Portaloo, then that is OK. It was like a small caravan, which is fine, but I do not think the description was obvious. I was happy overall, but I think the price was a bit high for what it was.
