As with the Movie by this name it was a time to connect with family in the area to celebrate the holidays. Unlike the movie there were no problems. We enjoyed the Lake House for its comfortable bedrooms and well-appointed bathrooms. Each bedroom was equipped with a smart TV allowing each family member a personal choice. The kitchen was spacious enough for family meals and preparation of gingerbread houses for an offsite decorating activity with cousins. We initially booked the house for a larger family group but due to illness only 4 of us stayed. We thought it was just right for the four of us! We easily shuttled to various locations to visit extended family while maintaining a sense of privacy to unwind between visits. We enjoyed the neighborhood for a nice walk with the dog to Rye Beach. Although most of the beach area was closed for the winter, we could imagine the summer here. One word of caution to off season renters- the thermostat is turned to 60 degrees between renters. Upon arrival, schedule an hour away from the house, while the heat pump adjusts the temperature. If like me, you didn't- look in the closet for an array of quilts and blankets. **** My grandson loved his bed. Would the host share information on the double beds in the upstairs bedroom?

From the moment we walked into the house we could smell that it was not clean. It smelled of body odor and stinky socks. When you sat on the couch it smelled like someone who hadn’t bathed in awhile had slept there for weeks. The pillows on the king bed were gross. They hadn’t been changed in quite some time because they smelled horrible!! Nasty dirty hair smell and actually looked dirty. The carpet that ran up the stairs and into the bedrooms upstairs was filthy dirty and it smelled. Some of the white towels had stains on them and also smelled funny. Sheets on beds were all wrinkled like they sat in a washing machine for awhile before going in the dryer and that’s not something I expected to find in one of your properties. If you use white linens then you keep them white!!! Down in the living room there was tons of dust on top of the tv and cob webs that flowed across the ceiling in front of the window. Just not acceptable when you pay that much money for a vaca property. I have rented many properties over the years and I have high expectations of what they should look like and how clean they should be. We had to spray body mist perfume every where just to get away from the stinch of dirty body odor. The floors were filthy also like they hadn’t been mopped in weeks YUCK!! I’m extremely disappointed with this house and I would not return there. And I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone not even someone that I don’t like 😝

Overall a pleasant experience. The outdoor furniture needed a cleaning and the kitchen was sparsely furnished-Could use an update.

We loved the quick trip to and from Cedar Point. This was perfect for our family with three teens. The kitchen was very well-stocked. It felt very homey and was beautifully decorated. Clean and very comfortable. A great stay!

The house was perfect for our family/friends getaway. With three bedrooms, and a pull out couch, we were able to comfortably sleep our crew of seven. It was great having two full bathrooms and a washer and dryer. The back deck had a table and chairs. The back deck was lovely to sit out on for morning coffee. It was also nice to have a full kitchen, even though most of our meals were eaten outside of the house. The drive to Cedar point was about 15 minutes which was great. I do recommend people going into Sandusky (Kroger or Aldi) for groceries instead of the local grocery store as choices are very limited, and prices are shockingly high. We’d love the idea of the option to bring our dogs. We did not do so, but if we ever come back will definitely consider. The neighborhood was not what I expected, but all neighbors we talked to were friendly. The house is super cute and decorated nicely. The beds were comfortable, which was really appreciated. There seemed to be a lot of bugs and spiders in the house, so maybe a good spray is in order, but we managed OK. It just freaked out one of our kids. The location of the home in the rye beach neighborhood lead us to walk towards a yacht club, which offered a lot of political views with signs that were pretty offensive, regardless of your political views. That was not a great way to enjoy our first neighborhood walk. Overall, a fantastic stay, and the location was great for day trips to cedar point.

Stayed at this house for 4 nights for my son's baseball tournament. On the last night of our stay, Saturday, at about 11pm, while we were in starting to get ready for bed, we heard the keypad on the front door beeping and then a strange man came into the house. My husband asked him what he was doing he said he had rented the house for the night. My husband told him he was mistaken and the stranger left. I double checked our reservation and we had it booked until Sunday. I sent a msg to Jimmy, the owner, and he told me that the man had his dates confused and was set to check in tomorrow (Sunday). Jimmy suggested we change the code on the front door to keep someone else from entering. This requires a screwdriver which we did not have so we had to wedge a chair under the door handle and my husband stayed on the coach all night in case anyone else who knew the code decided to come in. As you can imagine this was very unsettling, my son wanted to sleep with one of his baseball bats, none of us got much sleep that night.

After leaving Cedar Point, the drive to the house is literally 10 minutes away and it’s such a beautiful scenery. The property is gorgeous. The theme of the house is Lake Erie. We had nine guest and everyone slept comfortably. The owner had great communication the whole time. This was our home away from home. The price was reasonable considering all the hotels around cedar point are over price. This will be our new get away for a Cedar Point trips
