I stayed at the Rangeley Roost for 3 nights with three of my friends and their four kids. The house sits up high on a hill overlooking the lake. It's a beautiful home in the woods. We all had a great time. The weather was lovely. Nice cool summer air in the evening. There were lots of boardgames in the basement for the kids, who found them right away and played. The basement space is great especially for kids, clean with tables and chairs. The main house was big enough to comfortably accommodate all of us. The apartment is awesome. Almost a bonus, like wow this is included too! My friend who brought a dog stayed in the apartment so that worked out very well for us. Rangeley is one of the most pretty areas in Maine I have seen; lots of outdoorsy activities to experience, beautiful views everywhere you go, alot of fun to be had. Downtown has many restaurants, pubs, and shops. There's a public beach and park with kids play area downtown. The Rangeley Roost's shared beach and dock area is a private spot, a quick drive from the house. We could have walked, but we had all the kids. There is a nice grass area for play and bbq/picnics, a large dock (with a bench on the dock) to enjoy the water, and a separate floating dock where I saw some people having fun on it. A lot of the time when I went to the shared lake access area I was the only one there. Pretty quiet and nice. Anytime we had to deal with the rental company before or during the trip they were excellent, kind and helpful. I will definitely go back to visit Rangeley again. Thank you.

Clean and well stocked. Mud room and heated garage is a plus; prompt snow removal and sanding. Ample parking. We rented to snowmobile and it was in close proximity to the trails and other amenities in town.

Very clean and welcoming property!! Great space to spread out AND enjoy being together with our (adult) kids. Unexpected bonus - use of the heated garage. The note about 4-wheel drive is not a joke. Loved waking up to that view!! Will certainly try to get this rental again.

This is our 2nd time at Rangeley Roost and my only complain is that we can stay longer. Rangeley Roost has truly become our happy place!

The young kids in our party loved running around the great backyard space on this property, which has a nice fire pit in addition to the fire table up on the deck. The deck has great views of the lake and sunset, we enjoyed sitting out there each evening. This property is a very short drive into town and a few minutes from the shared waterfront. The separate apartment needs someone willing to climb some ladder-like stairs to the sleeping area but it's great for someone that wants their own space. Galley kitchen is tight if you need to cook a lot, but was fine for our purposes. We love renting in Rangeley with Morton and Furbish, and had a wonderful stay!

Rangeley Roost
Spent a spectacular month in the Roost March '22. The soulful, well-appointed house was perfect for my dog and I, and a handful of kids filtering through on various weekends. I'm from Colorado, and this house had that vintage Boulder feel which made me feel right at home. Some of the highlights: the very easy to use woodstove and nightly fires, the super cool soaking tub tucked away in the apartment, the amazing glassed in foyer / mudroom, the deck overlooking the surrounding woods and Rangeley Lake, and the colorful and bright galley kitchen. 14 minutes from Saddleback, 3 at most to the grocery, and maybe 4 to downtown Rangeley. The physical setting of the house is lovely; it's surrounded by a pretty evergreen glen that offers just about total privacy and plenty of squirrels for pups to entertain themselves with. I'd argue it's the best setting in Overlook. Oh, and one more thing...Morton and Furbish manages this property very well...expect a clean and cared for arrival. Highly recommended.
