Clean rooms. Advertised photos look so good compared with reality. We arrived at Mid Autumn Festival, a major holiday in Taiwan. Food outlets were scarce / not open on the day and day before the festival. No warining from Homestay.
We selected this homestay because we wanted Breakfast for a Taiwanese breakfast experience. When we arrived and paid, then Miss Yeh told us, there will be no breakfast because it is Mid Autumn festival, heavy guests. We hinted some refund, but was told she had posted in the website - but after we paid deposit and secured our booking. I went in to see and found there were 2 different comments, with breakfast and without.
No compensation. At least give us some compensation. Not fair. Thats the rating i give above.
Otherwise, we felt the stay was Ok/acceptable. We interacted with her on many occasions for the 3n/4day stay.
I think posting is not very fair to us - since we communicated on many occasions with her and she could have mentioned - no breakfast. Only told us after we paid, after arrival.
Didnt like to have to pay a deposit through TT. We happen to have a friend in Taipei, who has a local bank account to help us place the deposit. I dont know how other travellers paid alot to transfer through banks.
Should mention in advertisement : No lifts - especially for elderly folks we wish to book.

-amazing view from the balcony, very breezy even in the summer heat, and it is covered from the rain, a great place to eat, study, hangout, watch the sunset, enjoy an afternoon thunderstorm etc
-hosts were very friendly and helpful and even offered to help buy food for us and to let us borrow their scooter
-beautifully furnished rooms, very comfortable
-strong air conditioning, good shower
-hot water wasn’t very hot on the second day though it wasn’t much of a problem in the summer
-breakfast was delicious but the same on both days
-a bit remote which is part of its charm but making it less suitable for people without a car or scooter
