Enjoy an open space, 1200 square foot, two-bedroom unit located on the lower level of our home. Features a beautiful natural stone walkway and steps leading to a private, keyless entrance with a deck and adjacent patio. The walkway steps may be a mobility issue for some. The suite has a fully equipped kitchen, and work area with large desk, computer, printer and high speed internet. Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed, HD TV, and wood burning fireplace. Bedroom 2 has a queen-size bed, HD TV, and a work area suitable for a laptop.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The cleanliness was impressive and the decor added a special touch to the overall experience. Shirley was very responsive and had provided more than enough extras for our stay; snacks, drinks, cleaning supplies, toiletries, etc. we highly recommend this place and recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

We come to the DC area frequently to visit our daughter and have always stayed in hotels in busy parts of Washington. The hotels were very nice, but we always returned home exhausted after overdoing the tourist attractions and being in the middle of the hustle and bustle and city noise. Shirley’s place is a nice mix of convenience to tourist attractions by car or nearby Metro or if you just want to live like a local as we did. The space itself is one of the most comfortable and well equipped properties we have ever rented. We especially enjoyed beginning each morning out on the deck in our pj’s drinking coffee while being serenaded by birds. There is a grocery, CVS, Starbucks, etc. just a short drive away with a large parking lot. We stumbled upon the access to Rock Creek Park while walking through the quiet neighborhood. No need to drive and hunt for a parking spot if you want to hit the trails. We will definitely want to return here on future visits.

Very well appointed suite in a beautiful neighborhood. The suite was exceptionally clean with comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen and the array of welcoming snacks was very thoughtful. Shirley was an amazing host, we would not hesitate to stay here again should we ever return to the area.

The apartment was beautiful! New, clean and perfect for our stay. It was fully supplied with everything we needed along with some very nice welcome treats. I highly recommend although it may not be the best place for the elderly and definitely not for handicap persons.

Very clean. Good location. DC traffic very congested allow time for travel. La Ferme is a great local restaurant that is only a couple miles away. Wegman’s is a good place to buy any groceries located on Wisconsin Avenue. Definitely would recommend.

The place was beautiful and well appointed with what we needed. Owners were very nice and the snacks and water was a nice touch. The only and it’s small was that the sleeping areas were in my opinion slightly Mia leading. It says there is a futon on the landing before the second bedroom is really just a couch. And the listing stars in the great room has a double and a single bed it’s solely a sectional couch our young boys were comfortable out there but it was not as completely accurately described in my opinion.
All and all it was a wonderful home and very comfortable just maybe not for a family of 5.

This is the best short term rental we have ever stayed in! Large, well located, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean space filled with incredibly thoughtful amenities. Fully equipped kitchen stocked with snacks, coffee and extra household supplies (garbage bags, paper towels). The bathroom had toiletries, plenty of towels and laundry was easily accessible. The owner Shirley provided clear check in instructions, along with directions on everything from operating appliances to local restaurants and attractions.

This was a great place to stay during our recent trip to visit family nearby. It was nicely decorated and comfortable and it was very well-equipped for a rental. It had pretty good kitchen equipment and even a fair bit of food when we arrived (which was very helpful with our 11pm arrival; almost everything nearby was closed).
Shirley was warm, helpful, and easy to reach. We didn't need to contact her for much in the first place though as the binder of info in the unit had basically everything we needed to know.
We will definitely be back.

The location is in a great neighborhood with a short walk to a few restaurants and a 30 minute walk to Silver Springs metro with we used a lot. Shirley was an amazing hostess with many amenities waiting for you on arrival. The apartment is tastefully decorated and you unsteadily feel at home. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Shirley’s apartment! The place was immaculate, welcoming, and nicely decorated. It has all the amenities of home, and Shirley graciously provided snacks, coffee, bottled water, and anything you could need. She answered our questions very promptly and was the consummate host. Beds are very comfortable, and the living room/kitchen areas are conducive to a relaxing stay. Location is convenient to DC and Maryland suburbs, and is a great home base for sightseeing or events with family and friends. We will definitely stay here again!

This is a home away from home, very clean and well-organized, with everything you need for your stay. I am very particular about properties, having stayed in a wide range across the country. This one not only met the description and pictures provided, but exceeded them. There are lovely trails to walk or run on, and an excellent deli within walking distance, as well as another restaurant in that plaza. Very convenient to activities in the area and DC. 2nd Stay at our "home away from home"
We call it "Shirley's place" and it is so comfortable and has everything we need! Including great snacks and food.
The location is convenient to NW DC, Bethesda/Chevy Chase and Silver Spring ,
about 10 minutes from each in a beautiful residential neighborhood. Restaurants and neighborhood grocery within walking distance. We will be back on our next family visit.

This was the perfect place for our family of four. It was probably the cleanest VRBO we’ve stayed in. The location was great - we went for walks on the paths in Rock Creek park from the house, and then easily accessed the city.

Shirley was a fabulous hostess who anticipated every need. She responded quickly to any questions. Her home is wonderfully located in a nice neighborhood near great restaurants and walking paths in Rock Creek Park. It is very thoughtfully and well equipped.

Lower Level Luxury
This property is perfect. You stroll down the variegated stone steps alongside a spacious home to discover your own apartment above ground opening onto a deck equipped with comfy chairs and a grill. A keyless entry allows access through the French doors to a large master bedroom with a kingsize bed. The great room is huge. Sectional couch which can seat 6+, large TV, desk with computer, dining table for 4. New and fully equipped kitchen including snacks!!
Walk up 3 steps to a landing which has a couch and lending library. An additional large bedroom is located there as well.
The apartment is totally private and quiet. The owner has documented everything, but is on call if you need her. We stayed for a week while visiting our family and will return again soon.

Wonderful Stay
It feels like being in your own home. It is a beautiful space, wonderfully decorated, very thoughtful touches, and for us we especially liked the "cook's kitchen". Lots of sunshine through the windows, just 1/2 block from Rock Creek Park. Lovely neighborhood, too. We can't say enough good things about the property and host. Shirley made sure we had everything we needed. One tip to guests would be to check in prior to buying groceries. We were provided with quite a few nice things.
