About this cottage rental
Located in Bald Head Island, this lovely cottage for $375 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. We are a family of six (two boys and two girls), who relocated to NC from Florida just over 15 years ago. We took several family beach trips when we first moved here, and never felt like the beaches compared to what we left in FL. That is, until we discovered BHI just a few years ago. We fell in love with the beauty and diversity of the island, and made it a goal to have a home here. Now we are excited to share this home with you... Our home is perfect for families, couples, or even a get-away for just the guys/girls! It's conveniently located in the Maritime Forest, just minutes from Cape Fear Commons, the Conservancy, and the coveted East Beach. There is a relaxing outdoor spot to grill (one gas and one charcoal grill included) right in front of the house. There are two screened-in porches, one in the front and another in the back, where you can sit and relax, enjoying the sounds of the birds and the ocean breeze. The main living area has an updated kitchen , bar area, dining room, and a beautiful living room. Upstairs you will find two bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom. One bedroom has 1 queen bed and the other has 2 twins and 2 trundles. The community has a wooden boardwalk, which can be accessed from the back porch. Also included are bed linens, bath towels, beach towels, basic toiletries, beach chairs/umbrella, and a new pack and play and high chair. Your rental also comes with two golf carts, both 4 seaters. A Lifestyle Bald Head Island Club membership is attached to this house, and guest passes can be purchased directly from the club. If you choose to purchase, your guest passes will include access to the golf course, resort pool, croquet & tennis courts, and restaurants. We personally manage the rentals for our home, and enjoy developing a relationship with each renter. We are always available by text, phone, or email and have on-island support staff to handle any issues that may arise during your stay. We are confident that you will be more than pleased with our home, and we're sure you will fall in love with Bald Head Island, just as we have. We had everything we could possibly need in this cozy beach cottage! The hosts were super informative and seemed to really care that we had the best time. The island itself was lovely but the house was clean, comfortable, charming and well appointed! We will definitely be back to Bald Head Island and looking here to book again!

This was our second stay at Katherine and Jorge’s adorable cottage. The house is immaculate, has all the conveniences of home, and is set up perfectly for our family of three. We’re Access 42 lovers and the house is only a three minute cart ride away. Communication with the owners was excellent and they really have thought of everything you could possibly need. We’re looking forward to our 2024 stay!

My wife, our college age children, and I spent a week in Chica Lodge this July and it was everything you could ask for on BHI. It is one of the Surfman Walk properties, but the inside is unique, very tasteful, and extremely well set up. The kitchen was easy to use and the bedrooms were perfect with 2 trundle beds in one and a queen in the other. The location near East Beach was awesome because we love the better surf on that side of the island. My wife and I were just saying that it is probably going to be our go to place on Bald Head Island. It was a fantastic week!!

We really enjoyed the maritime woods location of this cute cottage in a well-designed enclave of similar cottages off of a boardwalk through the woods. We walked or biked to the lovely East Beach, very nearby. It's a really pretty part of the island. Hosts were helpful and wonderful to work with.

We had a wonderful time in this clean and comfortable home. The setting is quiet, amongst the trees and an easy golf cart ride to everything on the island. The kitchen had everything we needed. We took advantage of having groceries delivered as we were traveling close to dinner time and it worked out perfectly. We’ll definitely stay here again in the future.

Katherine and Jorge thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and fun! There were children’s books, a well stocked kitchen and everything was so quiet. There was even a little sand bucket and shovel on the counter filled with a brochure, clean sponge and dishwasher pods. The location was great and getting around was super easy in the golf cart, which was thoughtfully covered with plastic shades for the winter chill. The binder with all the info on the house and island was so helpful, it even had menus for restaurants.
The house was exactly as pictured and noise didn’t travel at all, which is great when traveling with a toddler :) Thank you so much for having us! We will definitely be back!

Katherine and Jorge’s house was perfect for our long weekend away! Even better than advertised. Even though we never met Katherine and Jorge, they were excellent hosts, always staying in touch and making themselves available. When we come back to Baldhead we would definitely stay here again!

We had the best getaway at Chica Lodge. The home was beautifully decorated, clean and welcoming. We liked the privacy of the home nestled among all the vegetation. And we were so close to beach access 39, which has a great wide beach. The home had all the amenities we need and having 2 golf carts was great. We can’t wait to come back.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage in Surfman’s Walk. The location was ideal, and the home was the perfect size for our needs. We traveled with our four kids, and the set up of twin beds and trundles in one of the bedrooms was ideal for them. The home has a BHI Club membership so we were able to get a guest membership for our family (must request BHI guest membership well in advance of trip if you want to take advantage of this).
The homeowners get five stars for how they manage this property. They are super responsive and wonderful to work with. One issue came up during our stay, and it was handled quickly.
I didn’t give all stars for cleaning because the cleaners didn’t do the best job before we got there (dirty towel left in a bathroom and a couple of similar issues). Sometimes the cleaners in the island are rushed. To be clear, the house was in no way dirty. It just wasn’t perfectly cleaned. The furnishings, beds, and bedding appeared to all be new.

Katherine and Jorge are thoughtful and responsive hosts! Chica Lodge is outfitted with everything from NICE beach towels, to four good bikes and a FULL kitchen; plus games and books for all ages, a pretty bar nook, and comfy pillows/throws everywhere. With THREE nicely appointed outdoor seating areas, it's very comfortable and spacious for a small group. A+!

A girlfriend and I ran away here for Mother’s Day! We didnt mind the twin bed and this house was perfect for a relaxing time! We ate almost every meal in house and it was perfectly equipped. Check in and out process was so easy and communication with the owner was great.

What a lovely home!
The home was even more beautiful than I expected. The photos don’t do it Justice! It was well-equipped and lived larger than I expected for a 2-bedroom. Having two screened porches was wonderful. Katherine’s communication was excellent.

Chica Lodge was awesome.
Jorge and Katherine are excellent host. Plenty of communication. They even reached out to us on the first day to make sure we arrived and had no issues. Their home is very well kept and tastefully decorated. All modern appliances and golf carts worked perfectly. There is a welcome notebook that explains everything about their home and Bald Head Island. Including all businesses and phone numbers. We were within walking distance of a beach access. And enjoyed the nature trails right down the road. Honestly we did not want to leave. Very enjoyable experience and we are planning to return in 2022. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Perfect retreat for small family.
Beautiful secluded, cottage in the maritime forest. Spacious and spotless, fully equipped with everything one needs for a vacation (quality kitchen wares, 4 good bikes, 2 golf carts, recreation equipment, towels, you name it). Loved the location with easy access to both East and South Beaches. Hosts were the best we have ever experienced, checking in and encouraging feedback. Will return again!
