A modern mountain retreat in Ashe County, NC’s amazing High Country. The serene property is nestled in the forest with amazing mountain views. This 1200 Sq ft house sleeps six. One king bedroom, one queen bedroom, and a very comfortable, high-end queen pull out sofa. Bed linens are top quality European fabrics.Two elegant bathrooms are creatively designed to provide privacy for all.
If you need additional sleeping space for your group, check out renting our sister property also, The Buckeye at Misty Glen. It's just a short walk up the hill and also sleeps six.
Modern and rustic furnishings create a uniquely authentic environment for the most discriminating traveler.
This is a new vacation rental house on gated property in a remote corner of Ashe County, North Carolina. The Sugar Maple was completed in November 2020 and is elegantly furnished inside and out. The 18 foot vaulted ceiling great room has a wood burning fireplace.
The main floor is elevated in the trees, with covered decks and mountain views. The south deck has dining seating for six, and the west deck, which includes the cedar hot tub, has very plush and comfortable seating for entertaining and relaxation. Stairs lead from the west deck sitting area to a globe fire pit, nestled in the forest and to the lower sitting area. There is also a north deck that features a large sectional sofa, a chaise lounge, and a gas grill.
The kitchen is designed for cooking and appointed with all necessary tools. There is indoor dining seating for eight.
The ground level features "The HIdeway", a room with a big screen TV, a full size sofa and chair, a small refrigerator, and a small pool table/table tennis/hockey game table. Vintage neon signs and decorative ceiling tiles create a really cool place to "hideaway". Outside this room is a covered area for entertaining and dining, complete with a picnic table and four adirondack chairs .

This house was an absolute gem and honestly exceeded our expectations. It was clean and well-stocked with everything we could possibly need, which made the stay feel seamless and stress-free. With thoughtful touches throughout, it’s clear the hosts have put a lot of care into making this a top-tier rental.The outdoor space was the real showstopper, featuring a great views that we never got tired of. We spent each evening enjoying the amazing fire pit and relaxing in the hot tub under the stars. We truly loved our time here and would recommend this property to anyone looking for a perfect getaway and we're already looking forward to our next visit!

We were so impressed with this cabin! Beautiful views and architecture! We had such a relaxing time as a family. The hot tub was perfect and the little town of Lansing was a great place to get a great cup of coffee!! We will definitely be back!

This house was absolutely beautiful! It was so clean, the view was amazing, and the hot tub and tankless water heater were great after a hike! It had so many little details that many rentals don’t, like snacks and wine provided, speakers throughout the main living area, robes, and a hiking trail on the property. A few things to note - we didn’t receive communication from the host between the time our reservation was confirmed in December and the time of check in. There are so many positive reviews mentioning great communication, so I imagine this was a fluke, but I had to reach out to vrbo and was sent instructions an hour after the scheduled check in time. This delayed my departure and my check in, as I didn’t want to leave until I knew we could actually access the property. I believe the instructions to get to the property mention just entering “misty glen, boomer blvd” which should take you straight the the gate. Google maps took us the back way through private roads. Waze and apple maps took us the correct way. If you are going to use the hiking trail, absolutely bring boots. I made the mistake of leaving mine at home, assuming the trail would be short and simple. To my surprise, it was a bit narrow and covered in leaves, so my tennis shoes were a bit too slippery to comfortably navigate the full route. Pack your boots!Overall, despite the minor check in hick up, this place was top notch and I can understand why so many people go back. I plan to be one of them!
