Garland has tons of parks and forest preserves and is a diverse city with both urban appeal and fascinating history. It’s dripping with pure Texas charm! Just a 6-minute drive away, you’ll find Lake Ray Hubbard, known in the city as the perfect place to relax. There is a very special Bass Pro Shops located right here by the lake, offering great views, shopping, an aquarium, arcade, onsite restaurant, and a private sand beach. The Garland Landmark Museum is located 17 minutes away and the San Martino Winery and Vineyards, 20 minutes away. There’s also not one, but TWO water parks perfect for family fun — Hawaiian Falls Water Park is 18 minutes away and Surf and Swim is only 9 minutes away. Historic Downtown Garland is another local landmark that you absolutely must visit. In 2017, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
