We had the opportunity to stay here for two weeks. The classic New England cottage is well maintained and the owners have paid attention to the details that make a difference (small nightlights in the hallway, a well maintained Weber grill, swivel bar seats, etc…). The owners were easy to contact and check-in was seamless. The location cannot be beat if you are wanting to explore. The beach is 10 minutes away, Block Island ferry 15 minutes, and historic Mystic just 45 minutes. Some of our favorite memories though are walking 10 minutes into Wakefield, diving into local shops then grabbing a malt at Greenline Apothecary. You can also access the South County bike path in town for biking or running. We miss our morning coffee on the porch and look forward to the next time we can visit.

This stay was everything we could have asked for and more. Not only did the house have everything we needed, it was in a great neighborhood that was quite and easy to navigate to Main St for anything we might be looking for! The hosts were incredibly communicative, answering any questions we had swiftly. The final cherry on top was when we needed to extend our stay due to our flight being cancelled, we were accommodated with ease. I could not have asked for a better space for our family! While we visit my husbands family when we are out here, our oldest child is autistic and it is nice to have our own space for her to decompress. Our kids managed the pivot and extended stay beautifully because we were all so comfortable here! Thank you! We hope to stay here agin when we return for each visit!

We stayed at the Hope Hideaway for 2.5 months, waiting for the completion of renovations on our Newport home. The cottage is a gem on a quiet, dead-end street yet with access to town, walking and bicycle paths, and shopping. The front porch was a lovely place to read my favorite book or drink coffee. The house has the charm and character of new and old. While it has been renovated, there are still traces of its history. The internet access was excellent, essential to me as I needed to work during our stay. The beds are super comfortable, with ample space to store your belongings. While we were not at the cottage during the summer, I often imagined how special it would be for a family as the backyard is spacious and inviting. Take a chance on this property - you will not be disappointed!

Very smooth rental. The owner took care of a couple of small maintenance issues the same day we messaged her. Loved the porch and patio. Only thing we could have wished for would be more screen windows to let in the cool night air. Thanks, Lindsay!

felt somewhat disappointed due to the poor drainage in shower; unable to get live TV on upstairs television; air-conditioner and fan were very loud resulting in uncomfortable sleep.......expected a little more for the cost.

My wife and I know Wakefield, having grown up in R.I.; it's a charming town itself, and close to the best R.I. beaches and Atlantic Coast attractions, like great seafood. So on a recent trip back to R.I., we decided to stay in Wakefield, and found "Hope Hideaway." It turned out to be perfect in many ways. The house itself is small but fully equipped and inviting - downstairs are a pleasant living and dining space connected by a service bar to a full and modern kitchen. There was a hummingbird who came every day to the flowering tree outside the kitchen window. All was well furnished and comfortable, including A/C's (not that common in New England, but increasingly necessary in summer). There's also a lovely porch to sit outside and just relax - a great stress antidote. Upstairs are two comfortable bedrooms and a full bath - the master bedroom had a memory foam bed that made for great sleep after active days. As was described, the location is on a quiet side street just a few blocks from Wakefield's Main Street. At the intersection with Main St. is Stedman's Bicycles, where you can rent bikes; a couple of blocks along Main Street you can pick up the bike trail, leading east about 3 miles to Narragansett and its public beach, and north about 5 miles to Kingston, with its antique (but Amtrak-active) rail station and the Univ. of R.I. A few more blocks along Main and you're walking by the shops, restaurants, and ice cream parlor of Wakefield. We totally enjoyed our stay - we could take advantage of Wakefield's charms, the beaches and activities, and then relax quietly in this comfortable, pleasant, and well-maintained house. A good stay.
