Originally part of a local hotel, this 100+ year old cottage invites you to become a part of its rich history. Embrace the character of uneven wooden floors that tell tales of laughter and footsteps. Let the ocean breeze weave its way through open windows, while fans play a gentle symphony. While the cottage does not have air conditioning it is nestled under the shade of towering trees. Fear not, fans are thoughtfully provided to dance with the ocean air, ensuring your stay is both cozy and comfortably connected to nature. In winter, cozy up to the crackling fire stove in the living room, adding a touch of romance to your coastal retreat. The cottage's location is ideal. It is situated within walking distance from Lamoine Beach and Lamoine State Park. When it comes time to venture out, the cottage is just a short drive (about 35 min) to the entrance of Acadia National Park and the charming villages of Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor on Mount Desert Island. Ellsworth is a short 15 min drive away. During the summer months of June, July and August, we are a weekly rental from Friday-Friday. Everything was perfect for our fall getaway. The house was warm, bright and airy while still being cozy. The setting was gorgeous and all the special touches made us feel we were staying at a friend's cottage. Jenny was great to deal with, very responsive. You can tell the difference when you are staying in someone's home filled with love vs. just a rental used to make money. This home oozes the love Jenny and her family have for their home and the area in general. It was a pleasure staying here!!

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is very well appointed and very clean. The views are fantastic. My girls enjoyed watching the deer in the yard each day. Jenny is very responsive to any communication. Would highly recommend staying here.

Loved this precious cottage. So comfy and homey. The setting was beautiful on the lake. The best place to relax and feel at peace. The cottage was so clean and had all the amenities. The amenities surpassed my expectations. Jenny is the best host. I hope to be there again one day!!

What a great property. Not only was the back porch our favorite spot to sit for morning coffee and evening cocktails, but the house itself was a little slice of history that was tastefully decorated to give it a modern farmhouse feel. We would definitely stay here again!!

The stay here was wonderful with all built in amenities and the location of the house is perfect. The house is connected to the water and has amazing views and you can just sit and soak them in. This place is pretty close by to all great attractions around. I definitely recommend this place to the folks who want to visit Bar harbor/Acadia national parks.

This beautiful property was the perfect place to stay in Bar Harbor. The house was clean, comfortable and full of little touches to help make our stay pleasant and memorable. The location was convenient to everything we wanted to see including Acadia National Park and Downtown Bar Harbor. We enjoyed watching deer in the backyard and sitting by the fire pit. Jenny reached out to us to see if we needed anything and quickly responded to a question we had about the area. If you are thinking about renting this property, do it!

Stay here if you want genuine peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of Acadia. Waking up every morning to seeing the lobster boats heading out, or eagles flying over, or deer frolicking (yes, we saw deer frolicking) on the lawn is truly Zen-like. The beds are comfortable, and you'll wake up from a great night's sleep in time for a 10-minute walk down the road to catch the sunrise at the beach; this is a must. The location is perfect to expand your horizons when visiting the area. Do yourself a favor, don't just go to MDI; head over to Schoodic and go check out the tidal falls in Hancock. The list can go on and on, but the gist of it all is that you are in a perfect spot to experience more than just MDI. And for those of us who occasionally work on vacation, the internet is speedy enough to do just that. All in all, I do not hesitate to recommend staying here, and you will find all that you need for your stay, from the well-stocked kitchen to the available wood and starters for a fire; there really isn't anything you will lack. Four adults were very comfortable relaxing inside and outside the home.

This is an amazing property! The owners obviously love this place and call it home. The views are awesome and it is located close enough to get where you need to be and far enough to be peaceful when you are “home”. The communication with the owner was the best we have experienced.

Jenny was very responsive and helpful with planning our trip to Maine, and quick at answering any questions we had while staying at the house. The home was situated in a beautiful remote area, with lovely ocean views from the back porch and windows. There is a nice big back yard, where our kids enjoyed playing and sitting by the fire-pit in the evenings. The home was beautifully decorated, and felt so bright, cheery, and cozy. The open floor plan downstairs was great for entertaining and hanging out with family. Jenny goes above and beyond to provide everything you need, plus extras and a thoughtful gift basket with yummy treats! The beds are super comfy, linens are soft and fluffy. The back porch was our favorite place to relax, and take in the fresh air while watching boats pass by. We rented kayaks, and explored Lamoine Beach…which was less than a mile down the road. It took us roughly 35-40 minutes to get to Bar Harbor and Acadia. We also took a drive over to Winter Harbor and took the loop around the Schoodic Peninsula part of Acadia which we absolutely beautiful, a must see for sure! Cornerstone Cottage was centrally located to all the places we planned on exploring! Thanks again Jenny for the wonderful hospitality, and for making our trip to Maine extra special! We will definitely be back!

I absolutely love this property. It's my second time back at the cottage. The setting is beautiful. The house is clean, functional, and a perfect place to stay with a larger group. I went with my husband, son, sister and her family, and parents. We loved checking out Acadia and the local state park and beach nearby. Jenny really tries to make her guests' stay special. Her online guidebook is awesome and she is one of those hosts who responds to your messages FAST. I would reserve another week at Cornerstone today if I could! :)

Everything about this cottage is perfect and so well done! More than enough space for 2 families of three. All the pots, pans, utensils, appliances and gadgets you need in the kitchen. Beautifully updated bathrooms, super comfortable beds. Owners really did think of everything. Loved hanging out on the porch every evening on the rockers. Our kids (9 and 10 years old) enjoyed the large yard as well as heading down to the water everyday and exploring. Also spent a lot of time down the road at Lamoine Beach Park (just a short walk away) where they could wander around and play. Great location all around. Owner was super responsive on any questions I had from the start of booking all the way through. Really loved our stay at Cornerstone!

Look no further, you found your home with Cornerstone Cottage. We felt right at home as soon we pulled in the driveway. Our host Jenny absolutely thought of everything to make you feel truly at home, from the sweet card and welcome gift with snacks, delicious pancake mix and syrup to the best coffee we ever had, binoculars and the Bose wireless speaker, which my brother bought one while we were there.We also had the unique pleasure of meeting her. She is super sweet and went in depth on the history of her beautiful home. The attention to detail is incredible and not to mention spotless.You can feel the love she put into her wonderful home. We loved eating our lobstah from D&J at the dining table, twice, with best view ( which we highly recommend, thanks to Jenny). I can speak for everyone in our party, that we left a huge piece of our hearts with Cornerstone Cottage and the beautiful state of Maine.❤️

We adored our stay at Lamoine Beach and Cornerstone Cottage. The house was immaculate and the attention to detail made us feel the love that the owners had for the this property. The location was great for kayaking (we rented from Acadia Kayak 1-Sean was awesome) and boated off the shore daily. We saw seals and porpoises, paddled to some beaches and a few caves and islands you can only access during low tide. We made friends with a few starfish and crabs in the tide pools and found tons of rocks and sea glass. We had our feet down by the water every day! About a 20 min drive had us into Bar Harbor. While we like Acadia, we appreciated being away from the touristy feel of BH main area. We followed several of Jenny’s resturant recommendations and they did NOT disappoint! Ellsworth was much closer and a cute little town too with the LL Bean outlet and a sweet Main Street. Each day after dinner we loved returning to our quiet retreat of Cornerstone with its cozy blankets and woodstove! We didn’t want to leave!

We had the BEST time in Maine, and this house truly was a home to us for the week. We enjoyed every amenity that was available at the house. The yard games were so fun, and it was incredible to be so close to the water. We walked to Lamoine Beach several times, and spent time in the yard every day. The drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor was easy enough! We had 5 teens with us and they all loved the house. We have recommended the home to our friends, and hope to be back soon.

We rented this adorable cottage for our 6 person family vacation. The property exceeded our expectations and its efficient layout makes it feel larger than it probably is. It has an open floor plan on the first floor with a gorgeous view of the water. The bedrooms were spacious and the bathrooms were large and up to date. This was one of the cleanest properties I've ever rented.
It was unseasonably cool during our visit so we didn't take advantage of the outdoor amenities like the rocking chairs on the porch or the seating closer to the water. We did get to use the fireplace which was nice. Although the property is close to Bar Harbor on the map, the route to get there is a bit round-about so it takes a good 30 minutes but traffic was not an issue.

Beautiful clean house with very nice amenities. Everything was available but a wine opener would have been nice. Very quite and situated directly on the water where we could watch the boats go by. Close enough to Acadia Park. It defined Maine perfectly. Would definitely recommend this place.

Cornerstone Cottage was clean, comfortable, and stocked with all of the essentials. The house and property are absolutely beautiful, as well as so quiet and peaceful. Our stay was stress free and so relaxing. Jenny’s recommendations for dining and activities were spot on and very helpful. We couldn’t have a had a better stay and trip. She goes above and beyond to make it a special vacation.

We couldn’t have asked for a better stay at Jenny’s Cornerstone Cottage! It exceeded our expectations! We were two families with 5 children and felt there was plenty of space for all of us. The kids had a blast playing on the huge lawn and rocky beach. The bedrooms even had black out curtains as well as kids books and toys. We were greeted with a hand written welcome note and postcards, local ground coffee, local pancake mix and local maple syrup. The cottage was incredibly clean and we didn’t feel like it was lacking for anything. Jenny was very responsive and wonderful to communicate with. It is such a peaceful location with a short drive to all that Acadia has to offer and to town to get all the things you need. I couldn’t recommend Cornerstone Cottage enough! They property was beautiful, up to date and spotless. View of the water was amazing with a variety seating on the patio or near the water. Inside is where the owners have thought of everything. Cabinets were packed with plates, utensils, cooking utensils and pots/pans. There was a very nice selection of spices as well. Small touches like providing detergent and dryer sheets for laundry show that they take pride in making their guest's visit effortless. Loved our visit here.

I cannot express how beautiful this cottage and property was! Every amenity and detail was thought of! This cottage was gorgeous inside and out and the views of the property and waterfront are Stunning! The fall colors were gorgeous! The location is perfect for a short drive to Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park. We had the best weather with evening laughter and great conversations over outdoor fires! Our Host, Jenny, was so attentive in every way! She went above and beyond! With the kindness of our host and the beauty of this place, this was hands down the BEST VRBO we have ever stayed at! My sisters and I had the most lovely time together in Maine!

To call Jenny's place just a cottage does not do it justice. It was a wonderful home away from home in an ideal location! Everything was immaculate from the linens to the rooms to all of the top tier knives, cutlery and dishware to the stunning yard. There was nothing we lacked! And when we couldn't find the coffee, Jenny immediately delivered it, without us even requesting it! She has a book describing potential things to do and restaurants to visit that is extremely informative. Sadly, we had to cut our vacation short because of a falling accident in the park and Jenny was supportive and helpful through our ordeal. If we are ever in Maine again we would definitely rent Jenny's cottage!
