Friendly efficient welcome, comfortable room, secure bike storage and as the French would say a very ‘bon table’ for the evening. Great service and cooking in the restaurant.

It was so welcoming and convenient as our friends live very close to the hotel and the beautiful town is not far away. The staff were great, from the moment we arrived, really friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Marta in the restaurant, she’s super professional and good fun. The dining experience was excellent, great food and presentation. The linen in our suite was beautiful quality and the bed was magnificently comfortable. The bathroom soap products etc. were very good.
A welcome bottle of water in the generous sized fridge, would have been gratefully appreciated - just a thought. The bathroom towels are disappointingly small, ex-large bath towels would be a welcome addition and also, a box of tissues should be provided, as a basic necessity! The gardens could do with some care and attention. Other than that, it was great.

After reading other persons reviews which were generally good I booked this hotel for one night. The staff were fine and the bed was reasonably comfortable but that is all that I found good here. Although the gardens are nice with 200+ year old oak trees and the hotel itself has good decor, the remainder was not good. When I asked if there was a vegan option for food I was looked at as if I had grown a second head! They had 2 vegetarian options so I asked if they could do a pasta dish with just fresh vegetables? I was told they were a gourmet restaurant that would not use pasta! The waitress said the chef had found some pasta and would cook it for me.It was bland and had been under seasoned with overcooked vegetables. They wanted to charge me €27 for this average meal worth €10. The next morning they reduced the bill slightly after my complaint. The room was a poky small loft room and was cold as the heater did not work.
The bathroom was nice and the room was clean. Nice mature trees in the garden.
