The Golden Sonne in Landshut is the most perfect place to stay in a very historic town. It is right in the middle of town but quiet at night. The room (junior suite ) was exceptionally large and well appointed. Everything was exceptional - including the comfort of the bed and bathroom. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. The hotel has been restored to a very high standard. The staff at reception were helpful and friendly.

The hotel is located in a beautiful setting, and it is clear that great care has been taken to maintain the appearance of the building, especially the interior. Unfortunately, our experience was seriously affected by the extremely cold temperature in our room.
The radiator did not work at all, which was particularly disappointing given that it was already the end of October. We reported the issue, but the instructions we received did not resolve the problem. We were told not to touch the radiator if there was a warning on it, and the thermostat did not work either. It is possible that there was a communication issue and that we misunderstood some of the instructions, but the fact remains that the room was freezing when we arrived and remained unbearably cold throughout the night.
Apart from this issue, I have little else to comment on. The building itself is lovely, but a functioning heating system is essential for a comfortable stay, especially during the colder months. Unfortunately, the cold made it very difficult for us to enjoy our stay.
