Meh - could be great but doesnt hit the mark

Attractive renovated property, good amount of space to relax. Beautiful kitchen and bathroom. The location is really convenient and central.

Everything is a bit dirty - it needs a good clean. The floors are quite gross and include a few sticky spots, and underneath the couches is absolutely filthy which goes to show the lack of cleaning. There are marks on the walls and the white towels were not white. The beds were incredibly noisy and not very comfortable. You can hear everything through the house - if someone gets up in the night, or talks in the lounge while you're in a bedroom, you hear it all. The bedrooms have blinds - they really need curtains for warmth and privacy.

Not happy I we’ll be putting in a complaint taking it further was told I didn’t need to pay the $70.

More towels…there was 5 of us and we only had 1 towel each for 2 days. The towels were yellow not white… No milk No normal tea bags… it wasn’t clean Not Happy at all was the worse Air BnB we have ever stayed at… the owner was Very Rude Man…

Would not stay there again.

House was warm, good air conditioning.

There was no gas so we had no hot water and no hob cooking available. The property manager confirmed the gas bottles were empty but the owner refused to believe this and did not replace the bottle.

Rude aggressive owner

Basic and good location

We’ve stayed here a number of times over the past couple of years. Had some small issues but didn’t think it was worth mentioning until now. We checked out today and received an incredibly aggressive message accusing us of leaving KFC and loose rubbish in the recycling bin. That was there before we left. We weren’t sure which was the general bin because it wasn’t the same as last time, so we left a rubbish bag over the KFC to stop any dogs/other animals getting to the KFC. Instead of letting me know that wasn’t the way he wanted it handled he was very rude, aggressive and asked if I understood English. I’m more than happy to accept fault but there was zero professionalism in the message. It was such a minor issue, he didn’t need to get so angry at me. As I said, the KFC and loose rubbish was there when we checked in. I apologised for leaving ONE bag in the wrong bin. So here’s my honest feedback on the property. The towels are paper thin and crunchy so I bring my own, there is a slimy sewage smell in the bathrooms. Sheets are crispy. Couches are cheap and uncomfortable. There are only blinds and no curtains so the rooms are very bright in the mornings. Cleaning is below average - there is grime build up on the taps, wasn’t vacuumed etc. He threatens in the booking confirmation that he is watching us via the outdoor camera - that felt quite intrusive and invasive. Very sad about the whole situation because we stay here whenever we come to Masterton and rave about how handy it is for us (despite the issues we mentioned) but we’ll be staying elsewhere moving forward. What a shame.
