About this house rental
Nestled in Southern Shores, this charming house for $375 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Launch your vacation with this updated beach box in the heart of OBX! The SandPyle is located on Duck Road in Southern Shores and is a 5-minute walk to the closest beach access. Parking on the immediate streets and area of the beach accesses is limited to those with parking permits and guests of the surrounding properties so the beach will not be crowded! With it being centrally located, guests will be able to bike (a bike/walking path runs all the way through Southern Shores & Duck) or drive to their favorite restaurants in both Duck and Southern Shores to include Red Sky, Blue Point, Aqua, Ducks Cottage Coffee, Southern Shores Pizza, Vilai Thai Kitchen, Barrier Island Bagels, Steamers, Coastal Cravings, Coastal Cantina, Duck Donuts and Donutz on a Stick. Need to snag some groceries? Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Walmart, Publix, and local, fresh seafood markets are nearby. There is also a neighborhood park and playground just a few blocks away. Popular local attractions include: Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Jockey's Ridge State Park, Wright Brother's Memorial, Currituck Lighthouse, Pine Island Audubon Sanctuary & The Lost Colony Outdoor drama. There are also multiple water sports rental businesses within a 10-15 minute drive with jet skis, kayaks, boats, and other fun water toys. A NEW brewery, Swells'a Brewing, opened Summer 2021 & is a 15 minute drive from the house; it perfectly accommodates both adults and kids! The SandPyle has 3 bedrooms (two with queens, one with 2 twins), 2 full baths, a covered front & back porch with Adirondack chairs, and a fully covered downstairs for space to play games, hang out and watch TV (plus an outdoor shower!). The large driveway has parking for four to five vehicles (depending on size) and is long enough for just about any boat and trailer. You will enjoy all the comforts of home and then some, including high-speed internet, ample seating in living and dining rooms, central AC/heat, ceiling fans, washer and dryer, full kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, full pot/K-Cup combo coffee maker. You will not miss your favorite TV shows or sporting events while on vacation - the SandPyle has a smart TV in the living room with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, You Tube, and you can also cast shows from your smartphone. To keep our rates low, we do not provide linens but if you cannot bring yours, we will be happy to provide a list of nearby businesses that rent linens and other vacation needs (beach chairs, baby needs, etc.) by the week. We have the following extra items for your enjoyment around the cottage and at the beach: 5-burner gas grill with propane provided, the Can Jam game to pass the time while grilling, an outdoor table and 5 chairs on ground floor, 2 beach cruiser bikes, 6 beach chairs, and sand toys. *** Dog lovers are welcome!!! Up to two dogs allowed but must be kennel (crate) kept if left home alone. One large and one medium kennel provided - if you bring two large dogs you will need to bring a 2nd large kennel. Also NEW this year a fully fenced area for your dogs!

The SandPyle was extremely clean and had everything we needed to enjoy a week away with our family. The enclosed pet area was very nice to have for our dog. The house was well-equipped and had plenty of room for our family of 6 to enjoy. And the walking path gave us easy access to the beach. We all agreed that we would love to stay there again!

Did you ever want to just get away and take your pets with you? Well we found an oasis at the beach! This property was well appointed, clean, good location and the host made it feel like we were right at home.
There were games, bikes, cable/internet, and everything you needed to prepare dinner and desserts. Check in was smooth, the owner responsive and the property super cute.

Great stay and proximity to the beach! Just be careful if you have dogs, there are these prickly plants along the walking route (not by or the property) that can get stuck in the paws. Steven was very prompt at providing information. The kitchen was well appointed. Great experience overall.

We had a great stay at the SandPyle. Just two adults and our dog, but the house would be very comfortable for a family with kids. Although located on a well traveled road to the front of the house, the inside of the house and backyard especially felt very private which was wonderful. Perfect location for us - truly a 5 minute walk to the beach (even saw several deer on the path one morning!), and was a great base camp for us to explore areas both to the north and south. Would absolutely recommend!

We stayed for over a week and it was perfect for my husband and I and our toddler. The place was stocked much better than most rentals I’ve had, and even had toys and books for the toddler. It’s an easy walk to a gorgeous beach, and not far from all of the restaurants and shops in Duck. We would definitely stay again.

The place was clean and located close to the beach. The house had everything we needed: beach stuff (wagon, chairs, kids sand toys), full kitchen (pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc.). There is an outdoor shower which was really convenient to clean up the kids before going into the house. Definitely a nice stay and we appreciate the hospitality and memories.

Sandpyle had everything we needed for glorious days at the beach! The walk was easy and low-traffic; even our petite 3-year-old handled the 5-min walk with no problem. Being right on Duck Rd, there was a good bit of road noise but the house does sit back from the road so it's not like it's unsafe. We just noticed it because we live on a quiet road in the country and we're not used to traffic! The couch could be a little more comfortable but the beds were nice and everything was very kid- and -friendly, from toys and games to the beach wagon and beach toys. Very clean and less expensive than many other properties!

Great place easy to find on main drag. Very busy on weekends. Only noticed cause we were there for two weeks. Owners were great. A little off the beach but short walk. all in all great value.

Ideal Location and Everything Thought Of!
Perfectly situated for our short visit as our goal was to show our 80 year old mom the majority of the Outer Banks in 3 days! And our rest time at the house was perfect! They have every amenity you could need and plenty of places for everyone to have some quiet time, a nap or read. Thanks for a wonderful stay! We hope to come back for a longer visit.

Great location, lovely stay
We enjoyed our stay. The home was a clean and comfortable way to relax after a day at the beach. We used the bikes provided with the rental to go to a local park, out lunch, and to the shops in Duck. We also used the fresh water hose to rinse off sandy feet and paws. The owner is so easy to communicate with and values his renters. All in all it was a good stay.

The Perfect Getaway
Everything was exactly as advertised (and clean!). Great location to all the best that Kitty Hawk and Duck have to offer.
The outdoor space is fantastic. The sunroom and decks made for an enjoyable time regardless of weather or time of day. We loved that the decks were gated so we didn’t have to worry about our dog running down the steps. The walk to the beach was super easy, too.
Thanks, Steven and Nikki, for sharing the Sandpyle with us! We would definitely recommend it to any and everyone. Couples and small families would have a wonderful time.
