About this house rental
Nestled in Southern Shores, this lovely house for $324 per night is a great option for your next vacation. This house has it all! Just a short walk to the ocean, easy beach access and parking. Southern Shores is a delightful town, centrally located, close to Duck, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head. Bike ride to restaurants in Duck or lounge at home by the pool. Gorgeous pool has a brand new liner and salt water, with an option to heat. 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths with a third shower in the garage. WiFi, two TVs, huge primary bedroom suite with room for an air mattress and pack and play. The large laundry room also is spacious enough to accommodate an air mattress. 3 bedrooms on the main upper floor contain a king sized bed and two queen beds. The fourth bedroom, on the lower floor, is perfect for kids, with bunk beds and a twin bed. There is a twin sleep sofa in the game room, adjacent to the kids’ bedroom. A pack and play, high chair, and booster seat is in the primary closet for your use. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, plates, dishes, glasses, pots, pans, a blender, toaster, Keurig coffee maker and traditional coffee maker. Two surfboards, one skim board, one boogie board, one SUP, three fishing rods, one tackle box, four bicycles, two bags of golf clubs, one stroller, and one large cooler are in the garage. If you have questions, please ask. We just bought this house and we’re new to the whole rental process. We are a firefighter and teacher, with two kids, and a lifelong dream of having a beach house. We hope you’ll enjoy our dream come true as much as we do.

My wife and I had our schedules line up perfectly mid-week so that we could take advantage of the extended holiday weekend. As we searched for locations, we reached out to Peggy to inquire about the availability and specifics on their house. She was very responsive the entire time and accommodated all of our needs. The heated pool was the selling point for us and it did not disappoint! The location was quiet, private, and in the vicinity of stores/restaurants which was an added bonus. We definitely look forward to returning sooner than later!

We just completed a wonderful week at Pegleg Paradise! We encountered an issue with the AC mid-week, which the owners were immediately responsive to and had it up and running again within 24 hours. They communicated with us throughout the process and made our comfort a priority. We are very grateful! A+ vacation!

Can't say enough about how great our stay was in Pegleg Paradise!! Everything about it was just perfect for my husband and I. Loved the location off of the main road and yet only 2 miles away from Duck or Kitty Hawk. Grocery stores and seafood market just down the road. Beach was 4 blocks away. The house was nicely decorated with quality furnishings, the kitchen was fully stocked with all we needed to cook at home plus a gas grill outside. The pool was large and heated and just a few steps out the door. Owner was extremely nice and answered all questions we had right away. This place is just perfect!!!!! We will come back again.

We loved it there. A private pool and a short walk to the beach were great and kid friendly. The house and pool were clean. It was the perfect size for our family. The owners have plenty of beach supplies. Definitely would would recommend and would love to stay there again.

Our first visit to the OBX was wonderful. This rental was perfect for our family. Comfy beds, well stocked kitchen and lots of space. We had 6 adults and 2 young children. Close to many great shops and restaurants. Down the street from the beach which was a highlight for us! The pool was a fun bonus and used every day. Peggy was awesome! Quick to respond to our questions and very kind! We look forward to visiting again. We would definitely stay at Pegleg Paradise again.

This home was perfect for our family! My husband and I - daughter and husband and 3 kids 5,7,8… pool was fantastic - nice temp at 90 degrees…plenty of space for all…easy walk or ride to the beach…well appointed kitchen had everything we needed (except a meat thermometer for the grill-bring one with you) We really enjoyed our stay - Peggy is A+ so easy to work with and quick to respond to questions! A Pegleg Paradise is a wonderful vacation home. It is spacious and beautiful, a quiet retreat that sits very close to the beach. The home is stocked with bikes, fishing equipment, games, and all kinds of things for the beach and pool. The pool is crystal clear and a perfect place to cool off. You can spot deer from the porch and see all of the stars at night from the rooftop deck. Our family loved our stay and hopes to come back soon. This beautiful home is a rare gem!

LOVED our stay here
Pegleg Paradise was a perfect house for our family. It was much roomier than the photos show. What I noticed first is how incredibly clean it was. It was comfortable and cozy with a beachy feel. The master bedroom is HUGE and my husband and I loved the double sinks in the master bath. The floor plan was perfect being open and also a second living room in the basement for our teens. Lots of outdoor space to enjoy too (multiple decks, screened in porch). And the salt water pool is fabulous! It's a good sized pool with plenty of space to hang out when not swimming. The ocean temperature was very cold when we went so having the pool was a lifesaver. This house is convenient to shopping, dining, etc. So close, you could easily ride a bike everywhere. The walk to the beach is short and the house sits in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. Lastly, there were plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards, bikes, fishing poles, pool floats, etc. so no need to travel with those types of items. Communication with the owner, Peggy, was excellent as well. We will definitely stay here again!

It’s a short walk to the beach but there are parking passes for your use which was amazing. Overall this was a great spot and awesome trip.

We spent a wonderful week at the Outer banks in this nice little home. Most everything was perfect...kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook with, private pool (with toys) on site, beach was a half a mile away, my kids loved riding the neighborhood on the bicycles, beds were very comfortable, enjoyed lighthouses, jockeys Ridge, countless restaurants and spent a small fortune on snacks and gifts. Would rate it as my favorite vacation had I not waited so late in the year to go...it got kinda cold a day or two...but on another note it was not crowded! So that was a plus!

We really enjoyed our stay and the house & area were everything we hoped for: the house has 2 guest bdrms upstairs w/queen beds along w/mstr suite on the other side with queen but also really nice onsuite bathroom & balcony. The kids loved the salt water pool! Downstairs there is another room w/bunk beds. The location is literally right down the road to beach access to Southern Shores... gorgeous beach! Soft white sand & very clean. Plenty of great restaurants in the area. Owners were amazing, very communicative & generous. Highly recommend & hope to return

After months of being stuck in the house, my family wanted to get out but wanted to be safe. We figured that a house with a pool that is near the beach would work, as long as it's not in a very populated area. This Southern Shores house was perfect! Peggy has lots of extras such as boogie boards galore, beach chairs, bikes, pool toys, etc. I rode a bike to the beach almost daily. The beach is a straight shot down the road- less than a half mile. On the days that the whole family went to the beach, one of us would drop the others off by car, go back to park the car and bike back. There is a pass where you can go a bit further up or a bit further down the road and park at an approved lot near the beach, but we preferred being closer to the house (and I loved the quiet time to myself biking). The beach wasn't busy at all so I wasn't worried about social distancing. The kids went in the pool every day during the week. That was the biggest perk for them. There is a lot of space in this house and the photos really don't do it justice. There were only six of us, but more could easily squeeze in without discomfort. I would highly recommend Peggy's house to anyone wanting to have a low-key and relaxing experience. Thank you, Peggy!

What a charming home , loved southern shores such a quaint neighborhood. My kids of 11 and 9 yrs of age loved the pool as I did as well . Short walk to beach . Fire pit was great . Kitchen was well stocked and Peggy was great to work with .
