- Right in front of the train station (West Exit, I believe)
- Very expensive and not worth the price at all ($800 for a bunk/night). I lived in Taiwan for 4 years, and this is the most expensive hostel/hotel I've stayed in. I've stayed in hostels' shared rooms across the country, and those hostels' rates for 2 days are cheaper than this hostel for 1 night. I stayed in Taipei single rooms for less than this hostel. I made a last minute booking in Yilan, so that's my fault for only having this hostel as an option, and I understand Yilan hostel prices are quite high, but this hostel finds weird ways to inconvenience you:
- They were reluctant to hold my luggage, and staff was cold
- This is the first ever hostel that asked to hold an ID until checkout
- The shared bedrooms were cramped and unnecessarily cold
- They didn't have trash cans or towels to dry our hands in the non-showering bathrooms
- We had to make our own beds
- The common areas weren't comfortable, well-decorated, or friendly
- I wouldn't normally think these issues are a big deal, but if I pay $800 for 1 night, I expect the stay to be worth that amount of money, not worth a mediocre $400 stay
