About this cottage rental
Located in Norfolk, this attractive cottage for $488 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Come stay directly on the beautiful beaches of the Chesapeake Bay. We have just completed "freshening up" this roomy 3 bedroom 2 bath home. This home is half of a duplex and the other side will be rented to guests as well. The home has a front porch with a view of the bay and a fantastic view from the Master Bedroom. We have a large 70" Smart TV in the upstairs living area and a 55" Smart TV downstairs. We also have High Speed WiFi for your streaming entertainment. We offer Central Heat/AC for you comfort no matter the time of year. Off street parking is available in our driveway. Our kitchen is fully stocked for those wishing to stay in and prepare your own meals. We have a gas fireplace for those romantic evenings after a full day at the beach. We are beach front, with a walk of about 50 feet to get across the sandy dunes. This property is #2 of a side by side duplex. Nothing is shared with the next door property except for the beach, front door entryway and large back deck. There are two new decks, one on the front of the home and one on the back. The downstairs "master bedroom" is very large and includes two Queen Size beds. The upstairs bedroom with a fabulous view of the beach and bay has a King Size bed, while the 3rd bedroom has two twin beds for the little ones. But best of all the is the secluded neighborhood and the beautiful Chesapeake Bay Beaches, right out your door. We also have off street parking in our driveway as well as a back deck and a charcoal grill for cooking out. Even with a thorough modernization the property is a historical home that is now over 108 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its charm as an older beach cottage. But even so, we hope that you will love our older and charming home. ** PLEASE PAY ATTENTION - this unit is for family units ONLY! No Parties are allowed or tolerated. We live nearby to this unit and will immediately cancel and evict anything resembling a party - No "Get Togethers" - No "Inviting a few friends" - No "Cookouts" - No "friends stopping by for a visit" - No "Wakes" - No "Funerals" - No "Birthday Parties"!!!! All cancellations like this will include forfeiture of all payments and security deposits - NO EXCEPTIONS! ** Please understand that once a reservation has been made, we do not revisit/refund if you have reduced the number of guests or have chosen to not travel with your pet. Quiet hours begin at 9 PM. This is a Family/Residential unit and area. No loud music or noise.

It is perfect, quite area for you and your family. Nobody sees anything about dogs on the Beach and plus maybe 75 steps to the beach. Been here before and will keep going back

We only stayed for one night so extra fees for pet, cleaning and late checkout made it an expensive for one night. However, it was a nice get away to visit my son who attends ODU for his Birthday.
The house is definitely dated but I expected that. It was clean and the owner was responsive.

Regular tenants dog. Braked every time. We went in or out front door. Seperated entrance instead of joint is a suggestion also clear marked parking would be also better we had two cars and so did that a few more pots and pans. Smaller coffee cups. Provide a few towels better tv with local channels. All in all a good stay

There were some problems with the downstairs bathroom when we arrived which took most of the weekend to resolve, so workers were in and out of the house. It is a duplex and there was an issue with the AC in the other unit but only attic access was through our unit - again, workers in and out. The washer machine didn't finish the spin cycle so we had to wring clothes out by hand for the one load we did. The light burned out in the refrigerator, there weren't enough plates for our group of seven, there was plenty of flat ware and cooking utensils but no serving bowls for salad or chips, also the towels were pretty small and thin. When we reached out to the owners they did provide us with additional towels and supplies but the house was not stocked with toilet paper, paper towels or trash bags to accommodate seven people for six nights.

Vacation
Picture of the property do not do it justice. 2 very big bedrooms upstairs with a family room. Downstairs another bedroom with dinning area and family room. Plenty of room for 2 families. Washer broke day after we arrived and contacted the owners and there response was okay, we will get you one right away and they did. Short walk to the beach with the dog,which if you have pets. That's a huge bonus. Definitely will be first on my list when I go back. Thank you so much for letting us stay there

Not to mention with Covid on top of it, this felt like a home away from home where we could go to relax at the end of a busy day. The cottage is set up nicely for two family groups. My aunt and uncle took the upstairs with a sitting area, bedrooms and bathroom while my mom and I took the downstairs with sitting room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. This cottage was decorated in the cutest way and thoughtful touches were found everywhere, such as the wine glasses and cheese board set out on the kitchen counter. It felt homey and lived in which is nice. Due to some continuing construction, I couldn't give it a 100% but I'm sure that would be the case if I'd booked just a couple of weeks later. The home is an older home and much care has been taken to restore it to it's original beauty. The hosts are absolutely lovely and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. While this cottage is bay-front, the bay is only visible from the bedroom window on the top floor. All in all, this is an adorable cottage in a great location.
