The view. Really that’s the only feature distinguishing it from any other motel (it’s not a hotel, it’s a high end motel).
Two floors up with no lift not good for seniors; bathroom fittings looked good but were flimsy and wonky. Breakfast on trays delivered to the room was a novelty (and a shrewd way to minimise waste and staff costs), but they really need to raise their game. More choice and healthier options required. Much is made of the skylight views (star-gazing from your bed) but really you see nothing and all you have to do is step outside for a whole sky of stars!!

Location is close to lake Tekapo
Not sure how this is a Rated as a 5 star hotel. Putting a white gown and slippers in the cupboard does not make it 5 stars. The rooms are old, walls are dirty and damaged. The beds are squeaky. In the morning the smell of bacon in the bathroom is extremely strong. There is very little way to vent your room if on the ground floor and maintain privacy. The price for a night is ridiculous.

"I loved this hotel. It was modern, had a ceiliing window for stargazing and breakfast was delivered to your room. We could also walk from town, and see the lake from our window."
