About this house rental

Situated in Georgetown, this charming house for $108 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Summary: Welcome to the new Georgetown, Colorado! The 45-minute drive from Denver will take you back in time and far from your ordinary day-to-day doldrums. Our sparkling new lakefront town home is nestled at the base of Guanella Pass, one of the Rockies’ most beautiful destinations. With three bedrooms, there is room for everyone in this lovely mountain escape. For the best in hiking, skiing, wildlife, local culture and history, the Rocky Mountains are calling and you must go! The Space: Explore the Rockies from your new favorite home base at popular Bighorn Crossing! Two stories, three bedrooms and two and half bathrooms all add up to a gem of the townhome that’s both comfy and roomy. Whether you’re a Colorado greenhorn, a repeat visitor or a Denver local looking to breathe free for the weekend, there’s never a bad time to enjoy the Centennial State’s 300 days of sunshine. Check out our neighbor, Cabin Creek Brewing, for a taste of Colorado's famous golden nectar. Shred at Arapahoe Basin, Keystone or Loveland Ski Area, all within easy reach. Step back in time on the Georgetown Loop Railroad. And hiking is literally on your doorstep -- just lace up your boots and head outside for a relaxing stroll. Keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife, including Georgetown’s famous bighorn sheep. One thing our guests love about the home is the awesome layout. The great room, one of the guest bedrooms, a half bath as well as the kitchen and breakfast bar are all on the main floor. This is so perfect for all groups, but especially those travelling with people who have trouble with stairs! The first-floor bedroom is playfully decked out with rustic and stylish bunk beds. Of course this is a great option for those traveling with kids, but to be honest they’re just as big a hit with our adult guests! The floors are beautiful and everything is brand new in this mountain oasis. The kitchen will exceed your expectations: full of modern appliances, with plenty of counter space and everything you need to whip up a meal or snack. Brew up your morning cup and partake in the popular Colorado pastime of waking up with coffee, birds and wildlife. Everything is fully stocked for your convenience. Weather keeping you inside? The variety of comfy lounging spots are perfect for relaxing, snuggling and enjoying the peace and quiet. And if you’re looking to unplug, the lovely view is also visible from the couches. One of two guest bedrooms is also downstairs. Head upstairs to find the master bedroom and the second guest bedroom. We are huge fans of upstairs bedrooms in general, but these are especially pleasant and well appointed. The master has a queen bed outfitted with luxury linens. The master bath delivers some nice upgrades like a walk-in shower and his-and-her sinks. Prepare for a day of adventure while gazing out the window at Georgetown’s natural splendor. Also upstairs you’ll find a guest bedroom with another queen bed. The full guest bathroom is a necessity for group and family travel. Stay for the night, the week, or longer! We love to accommodate extended stays. This space is Colorado personified and distilled into one luxurious, cute package with all the bells and whistles. Book with confidence today! Guest Access: Guests have access to the entire space. **Hot tub and Pool is located in the Wyndham Microtel, walking distance to the condo. ** The Neighborhood: Originally a mining town in the 1800s, Georgetown was named after George Griffith. Looming over Georgetown, Griffith Mountain was named after George’s brother, Davis. Griffith Mountain tops out at 11,558 feet, and you can sign the climber’s log once you make it to the top. If you want to conquer one of Colorado’s legendary fourteeners, just drive down to Guanella Pass. At 14,065 feet above sea level, Mount Bierstadt will offer you the view of a lifetime. Backcountry ponds, streams, snowshoeing, and even skiing at the long-closed Geneva Basin are all waiting for you just up over the hill. If you want to stay within the civilized confines of Georgetown, the Georgetown Loop Railroad, shopping, art galleries, walking tours, fishing, mine tours, and fine dining are all within easy reach. Other Things to Note: Check out the new brewery in town for a refreshing drink! Note that there is no AC in the town home. This is normal for homes at 8530' elevation. Open the windows and enjoy the fresh breeze, even in the middle of the summer! Absolutely, NO PETS OR SMOKING in the home. A fine from the security deposit will be withheld if house rules are broken. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the house. The place is nice and clean. It is conveniently located, near hiking trails, passes and other area attractions. However, the house is built on the 2nd lane from the highway but at present is positioned in the direct view and ear shot of the Hwy70. When we were there, the construction work was ongoing around the area during the night. We were forced either to sleep with windows closed or to use ear plugs. Perhaps, when the first lane of the houses gets built, it will muffle the sounds of the highway traffic and construction. But for now, it's loud so bring your ear plugs. Another negative point is that the house and the kitchen were extremely understocked. For the house that supposed to accommodate up to 8 guests (we were 5 adults) there weren't enough cups or glasses. No wine glasses, no soup/tablespoons. All kitchen knives were extremely dull, and no sharpener was provided. We prefer home cooked meals, but we found it challenging. In addition, for 3 bathrooms and 5 adults staying for 7 days we were provided only 2 additional rolls of toilet paper, 3 garbage bags and 1 additional roll of paper towels. I must highlight that the communication with the property managers was exceptional - they responded to our emails within a couple of hours or less, even if this was after business hours. After we complained about the problems we encountered, they suggested we buy whatever we needed ourselves and they immediately reimbursed us.

We wanted to stay close to Grays and Torreys Peaks and chose Georgetown. Great location and just 1/2 hour from the trailhead. We hiked Square Top Mountain at the top of Guanella Pass right in Georgetown and that was our acclimation mountain, plenty challenging. House was clean. Laundry on site. Agree to bring your own pillows. Issue with front door handle but management was responsive and said it would be fixed. Good restaurants close by. Beautiful lake and mountains as backdrop. Just a gorgeous area.

Took a 5 day family trip. 2 adults went to Red Rock for concert. 2 adults stayed with toddler. We had best of both worlds with time in Denver exploring, and time in Georgetown, spent hiking, at the park, strolling by lake, shopping, seeing the mule deer, and bighorn sheep in town. Condo was great.

It was definitely roomy enough for 6 adult size people. It is new construction. The light switch for the upper room was connected to the lower room. So whenever the other person flipped the lights, it only did it for the other room. If you like super firm beds, these are the beds for you! If you also prefer 1 1/2” thickness for pillows, they will be amazing for you! If not, I would suggest bringing your own. Our thermostat in one of the upper bedrooms didn’t change temps. Other than that it was a really nice place! I loved how people left their food for the next person. Always a nice surprise!

Great location, easy access to all accommodations, a lot of space and garage use availability (great for the possibly adverse winter weather) as a bonus. One thing that could be improved - the front door lock is a real pain to lock from the outside with the key.
