About this house rental
Nestled in Manasota Key, this attractive house for $174 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. 2 BEDROOM COTTAGE Enjoy our spacious and cozy 2 bedroom cottage with well equipped, full kitchen, dining area and comfortable living room. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom. Free onsite parking for 2 cars. Relax on the patio with seating and gas grill. Washer and dryer are on site in the cottage. We are dog friendly, any size! 2 dogs max. At time of booking, please let us know if you are bringing one dog or two dogs along. The fee for one dog is $115. The fee for two dogs is $165. Our 2 bedroom cottage sleeps 6 (1 king bed,1 queen bed and 1 futon in the living room). Beach chairs and umbrellas, cart, and beach toys included! Super fast high speed internet and WIFI that never disappoints. Books and games to enjoy, as well as cable TV. We hope you'll love our location as much as we do! There is easy beach access via our deeded path located just a few houses down the street or you can walk to Stump Pass Beach Park located around the corner and enjoy the day there walking on the beautiful nature path and stroll the beach searching for sand dollars, seashells and shark teeth. Grab a kayak and enjoy the day on the water. Walk or take the trolley to several restaurants that serve up delicious food and tasty drinks all day long. End the day watching the most beautiful sunset you'll ever see and then enjoy nightly live music right down the street. (Our Manasota Key Beach House is a duplex with the choice of the 1 bedroom cottage or the 2 bedroom cottage. Or rent both for a total of 3 bedrooms that sleeps 8 people)

The property was very nice and we loved Manasota key. Very cute street. We did a lot of shark tooth hunting and found hundreds of the small ones. A beach cart was provided that made it easy to bring lots of stuff down to the beach. Also, the Stump Pass Park (short walk) was very nice. We brought our two dogs and though they were not allowed on the beach we did bring them a couple of times in the late afternoon (we had seen many other dogs being walked on the beach) and had no problems.
The property owners suggestions for restaurants were very useful as well. Overall we had a wonderful experience.
My only note would be that it would be good to have a little more toilet paper. With myself, my wife and three adult children the one backup in each bathroom is not quite enough.

Very comfortable. Everything needed was there. It was easy access to the beach. The beds were very comfortable.
Should maybe have throw rugs inside the doors to help catch the sand. We wiped our feet on the outside mats and didn’t wear our shoes in but the sand got in anyway.

The property was not clean when we arrived. The floors had dust/hair along the trim throughout the house, the bathtub in the hallway had hair in the drain, and the spout was cracked/broken which was a hazard for our young children during bath time. The hallway bathroom’s drain cover was also broken and came out during bath time.
We scrubbed the backyard patio table so we could use it for dinner.
We did appreciate having beach toys, a cooler, and beach towels at our disposal because it was less we had to pack or buy.

The Cozy Cottage was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Beach access was just a short walk from the house and a variety of restaurants just a bit further down the road. I enjoyed my stay. The Cozy Cottage is a great place to relax by the beach!

Great property within walking distance to the beach. This property is part of a duplex but there must be great insulation because we could not even tell there was another family staying in the other unit. Clean unit with all of the amenities you need plus a shed that has beach chairs and umbrellas. Two ways to access the beach. You can walk north about 8 houses down and there is an access but these beaches are private up to the water so you can either walk the beach or sit with a chair at the water's edge. We had small children so we opted to go to Stump Pass State Park every day which is a 30 second drive or a 5 minute walk. Much better as you can do your full setup wherever you want along 1+ mile of beach. Definitely looking to stay here again in the future!

All Kitchen appliances need updating, patio landscape needs work, to many uneven blocks. Pots and pans need updating. Shed needs to be cleaned of unusable items - bikes, chairs need review. Management needs to pay more attention to property. Location and beach accessibility, including Stump Pass was convenient and great.

This cottage had everything we needed for a nice beach getaway! It was conveniently located walking distance to the beach, state park and the restaurants on the key. We used Stumpy’s free ride sometimes and walked sometimes up to the bars. Easy to do both! It had a nice patio with Adirondack chairs to relax. Beds were comfortable although the extra blankets and linens we found looked dirty. Unfortunately, the red tide kept us from the beach all but part of one day so we cannot comment on the beach equipment nor did we end up using the bikes. Rikke was quick to respond to my questions and check in and out were a breeze. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

It was a nice place to stay walking distance to the beach. It was a few blocks walk to a couple restaurants or a short ride off the island to several other restaurants. Quite a bit to do in the area from outdoor activities to shopping and entertainment.

This cozy cottage was the perfect beach getaway from the frozen north (a.k.a. Minnesota). We were able to walk to the beach every day to boogie board, swim, fly kites, and look for shells/shark teeth. It was so wonderful to have a full kitchen to cook during the week and save some money. We would definitely stay here again! Perfect location and cute cottage!
The only thing that would have made it even more perfect would be the addition of a kayak to use, but we did put the two bikes and beach equipment to good use!

The two bedroom cottage has been a perfect place to stay while being displaced from my home by hurricane Ian. It is fully equipped, has adequate space and a lovely outdoor area.
The owners are responsive and wonderful to work with.
Although I live in the area I plan to come stay from time to time.

The listing is accurate and we had a good stay considering it was a few weeks after hurricane Ian hit. This house did not have damage but many, if not most, did. The beach was fine although we were warned to not go in the water or eat fish caught close to shore. Stumps Pass Park was closed, hope it is open soon! Rikki was fast to respond when the internet went off, couldn't ask for better communication. The usual spices and condiments that folks leave behind were not present, maybe due to covid? Coffee and filters, salt and pepper was about all we found. We left some things for things for the next renters! We did use the beach stuff in the shed out back, was glad we had use of those items. Overall, I would recommend it!

We had a great weekend getaway for our family of 4 and our dog. Manasota Beach is beautiful from the Wanna Be Inn and south.
Visit the Beach from the Wanna Be Inn and south and you will have a great time.
North of Wanna Be Inn is full of private beaches, with signs stating private property to the waters edge, no stopping, sitting, and you are being filmed. There is a public beach access north of the house (as stated in the description), however, the beachside property owners make it clear that you are not to setup there and may only walk along the waters edge.
Stump Pass Park is beautiful and a must see. Fees are $3 per car or $2 per person if you walk in. The house is a short walk to the park - the park was beautiful and well worth it. While on the beach we found many shark teeth, were able to snorkel, and float in the gulf.
It is worth noting that about 1 mile north from the house is public beach access. If you didn’t want to drive, you could get a ride on the Stumpy’s Free Ride (required tip) and take that to the white elephant…the public beach is right across the street from there.
We liked that the house had a sifter for shark teeth hunting, bikes, beach supplies, etc. The kitchen had a coffee pot, toaster, microwave, and all of your basic needs. There was a hose outback to wash off after the beach and also a grill.
There are great restaurants and shopping on the key and groceries are a short drive over the bridge.
Overall a great place that I would recommend for a getaway.

We enjoyed this property so much. It is a quick 7 minute or less walk to the beach. The rooms were a great size and the amenities were awesome. Beds were comfortable. We brought our own bed spreads and covers for the furniture because we brought our 2 dogs and their crates. This property is cute and just what we needed. Will stay here again if available.

Enjoyed having beach chairs, cart and umbrella so we didn’t have to bring them.

Nice quiet getaway
The property was very nice as listed. I gave < 5 stars for 1 or 2 things only because the outside area was under the trees and there were tiny ants and leaves on furniture. The chairs and cart could use some updating. The walk to restaurants was too far in the heat. We opted to take car. We did end up entering beach at wanna b inn. It does say private property but that was one of the accesses we were allowed so we did. The bathrooms were clean and the kitchen and living room. Although we covered the sofas to get comfortable on lazy days. Quiet to sleep as well. But wasn’t sure if the quilts were washed. Left the towels on washer and pulled back the bed sheets. Didn’t wash them that morning because didn’t want them to sit and didn’t know when the cleaning people would come. But it was a relaxing getaway all in all.

Basic but perfect!
We are no frills travelers - much more concerned with location than elegant amenities. This property was perfect for our family of five. We did sleep three in the king and two in the queen because the futon wasn’t in very good shape - but we were fine with that arrangement. The duplex is right across the street from a beautiful beach. Fairly close walking distance to several restaurants, Publix and Wal-Mart within ten minutes, Boca Grande 25 minutes, gorgeous sunsets on MK nightly! Owner was very responsive, duplex has bath towels, extra supplies if needed, and was perfect for our stay. Highly recommend.
