Spent the night here. We visited 6 months ago and they were refurbing the hotel and it's still not finished which is a little disappointing. The smell of paint was quite strong as well. Our welcome was lovely from the friendly staff. The room we had was one of the newly refurbished ones and it was lovely and comfortable. Not the largest of hotel rooms though by modern standards but very clean and modern. A nice hotel with a couple of odd occurrences with the food.
The bathrooms are lovely however the new showerhead spins to face the wall rather than face you and there's nothing you can do about it.
Towels and bedding are super cozy.
The evening meal was a tale of two halves. The starter was weird. A fruity, vegetable 'lasagne' in a glass with cream - seemingly the best way to describe it. Very odd. The main was a duo of pork with potatoes. That was actually a duo of potatoes with three thick slices of bacon without the rind. Really nice taste, just not the pork cutlets described by the waitress.
Breakfast was a disaster though. There is a lovely restaurant that had different breads, eggs, meats, fruits and juices. All looked lovely. Went to eat it and was told that it was not for us (although that's exactly what we had last time we were there). Apparently that was for a coach party.
We were relegated to a rock hard baguette to share that didn't have a knife sharp enough to cut it with some parma ham and some rubbery cheese. Not really what we expected for breakfast. So hugely disappointing and not the best way to end what would otherwise have been a nice stay.

Pet friendly with a dog friendly dining area. Excellent dinner. Being updated so room was new and very comfy bed.

The property is undergoing renovations. We stayed in the older section…so, so comfortable! Beds were amazing. It had a bath which was lovely.
There was nothing that we didn’t like except it was old and needed a revamp The breakfast was limited, the fresh orange juice ran out and they just took the machine away. Staff were more interested in chatting to each other than the guests
