About this cottage rental

Situated in Port Isaac, this attractive cottage for $206 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Summary: Located in the heart of Port Isaac, this historic pink coastal cottage awaits you with its stunning harbour views and characterful interior. Spanning over 3 storeys, there's room for families, friends and groups of up to 6 to spread out and relax. The Space: On the ground floor, a beautiful sitting room with immediate sea views, an open fireplace and wonderful antiques. Next door the dining room has a big Victorian table with original Cornish slate floors and decorative blue and white china. Leading off the dining room is a small, well equipped galley kitchen and utility area. 2 bedrooms are found on the first floor as well as a family bathroom with bath/shower. One a twin room and the other a master with en suite, which boasts some of the cottage's best uninterrupted views of the Cornish coastline. A further spacious twin bedroom with sea views is located on the upper floor. There is also a separate WC on the first floor. The cottage has access to a private garden with wooden table & chairs and stunning views that make for a perfect alfresco dining setting. Private parking for one vehicle. This is an old cottage with a lot of character and rustic charm. Jenny and Haakon have filled the cottage with wonderful antique furniture and objects from all over the world. It is a real feast for the eyes for the artistic minded. Please bear this in mind when considering to book the cottage. Please also be aware that whilst we do accept children, there are potential hazards that those with young children or mobility limits should be aware of. The steps leading down from the back garden and parking are quite steep and can get slippery when wet (though the property can be accessed from the front). Much of the flooring is also made up of solid Cornish slate. Lastly, one of the twin bedrooms has very unique antique beds which are quite high off the ground, which would not be appropriate for young children. However, there are two pullouts in the top twin room, so up to 4 children can sleep in here if they are too young for the first floor twin room. There is one stair gate at the bottom of the stairs. Guest Access: Guests will have exclusive access to the entire property. There is a shared path to access the front of the house with lawns either side of the path demise to the other properties. We therefore ask that you respect the neighbours privacy. There is also access to the back of the house (where you park the car) via a very steep stone staircase. This can get very slippery and dangerous in the dark. We advise that you use the front path if you have any physical difficulties or the weather is challenging. The Neighborhood: Port Isaac is an idyllic fishing village located on the North coast of Cornwall. Much of the village has kept its charm by remaining relatively unchanged from its days of fishing and slate export in the previous century. Traditional fisherman's cottages line the streets, as well as a handful of small independent shops and cafes. There are plenty of dining options in the village; a local pub with beautiful views of the coastline, a small artisan pizzeria and 2 of Nathan Outlaw's impressive restaurants. Polzeath and Padstow are also just a ten-fifteen minute drive away, and there are several circular coastal path walks to enjoy. Getting Around: Parking is limited in Port Isaac but luckily there is a private space for one car at the rear of the property. For any additional cars, you can park in one of the large car parks on the outskirts of town (this is around a 5 minute walk from the cottage). Other Things to Note: We would be grateful if guests refrained from using coal on our open fire in the sitting room, and could they please use briquettes which can be purchased from the co- op just up the Rd. One small dog allowed with prior arrangement and on condition they are kept downstairs. If you'd like to bring more than one dog with you, we would ask that you get in touch prior to booking. Interaction with Guests: We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

This beautiful property is so characterful and in such a great location. It is really well appointed and has everything you need - it's a home from home. The beds are very comfortable too. There are paintings, pictures, antiques and beautiful rugs everywhere. The log fire, sea views and parking space were a bonus. Being only a short walk to the Port Isaac harbour and being opposite the cliff coastal path made it a great place to spend a week. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in Port Isaac. We loved it and really enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at your cottage and Port Isaac. Such a charming place in every way. We did get locked out once because there doesn’t seem to be a key to the front door. Hazel next door was very helpful and kind and had an extra key. Thank you very much for a lovely place to stay.

The lock to the door was set so that the key in the lockbox would not open the door. We arrived late, there was no one available by phone at that hour to deal with this lock that would not open, and the front door uses a different key, so only way we could get in was by breaking a window and going in through the broken window. Front and back door need to work off same key, and the locks need to be the type that they cannot be inadvertently set to prevent even the keys from opening the doors.
