About this house rental
Located in Folly Beach, this lovely house for $586 per night is a great choice for your next break. Step back in time with a stay in this gracious, vintage beach house updated with all modern amenities. This home is the perfect place for 2 families to come together for some quality time on the beach! There's no need to choose between ocean view and marsh view because you get both! This property is located on the eastern end of Folly, right across the street from the beach. You will enjoy the cool ocean breeze while relaxing on the gracious front porch, which will comfortably accommodate your entire entourage. There's also a generous sized deck and screened in porch in the back, where you can enjoy the marsh wildlife. This deck opens up to an elegant backyard that is protected by Live Oak trees and leads to the beautiful Folly Island marsh. There are three spacious living areas on the first floor offering plenty of room for relaxation. The living room features heart pine floors, windows looking out to the beach, a 50” Roku TV, and french doors leading out to the large front porch and deck. The master bedroom and bath are located off this room. the real gem is the master bathroom which has his/her sinks. The tile floor flows into the gigantic shower which you can literally walk around in. It boasts three different shower heads, a seating area and three side-spray shower heads. Of course, the first thing you will notice when you enter the bathroom is the wonderfully decorated and spacious tub.There are two other bedrooms and 1 and 1/2 baths on the main level. There is a game room in the center of the house with a poker table for evenings of card games. The family room is open to the kitchen located at the back of the house with gorgeous views of the low country, marsh and river. It has a 50” Roku TV, comfortable seating area, and large dining table. The family room opens onto a deck for grilling, and a screened porch for enjoying the sunsets. The spacious kitchen has recently been remodeled. In addition to a refrigerator, it has a countertop beverage fridge, toaster oven and toaster, microwave, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker, a regular coffee pot, and plenty of well stocked cupboards. The washer and dryer have their designated space in the kitchen. Upstairs are three more generous bedrooms, one being another master with a king size bed, flat screen TV, and french doors out to it’s own private porch with views of the beach. There is an additional play area on this level as well. The huge front porch and front deck on this home are perfect for entertaining, sun bathing, and watching the surfers at the popular “Washout” spot across the street. There is an outdoor shower and the beach access is just a short walk across the street. So enjoy the sun and sand, and the nostalgia of yesteryears in this unique Folly Beach home. Great location 2 min walk from beach access, 5-10 min drive to restaurants/stores, 30 min drive into Charleston, well equipped house.
Beds weren't the most comfortable, a couple of broken frames as root issue. But for a 4 day stay, not a huge deal.

We had 2 families staying here (9 people total) for spring break. The house is very comfortable for a bigger group. Plenty of space, bedrooms and sitting areas. Kitchen is well stocked. Front porch was nice to sit on (screened porch on the back is small and has a small table - would be nice if they extended the screens on the full back porch). Very easy walk to the beach across the street. A nice and quiet location. Our only recommendation would be for the owner to invest in new pillows for the beds, many were very flat. And maybe some mattress toppers as some of the beds were a tad hard. It’s def a very nice house with a easy walk to the beach.

Porches were perfect for gathering.. Wel Great views. Kitchen well stocked.Linens on king beds were not well fitted . Great spot for family fun.

Wonderful House
The house fit all of our needs. Many comfortable places to get alone and read a book or hang out with everyone and play games. Location to the beach was easily a short walk, but definitely rent a golf cart, it makes moving around the island much easier.

Everything was wonderful from check in to the house itself. We were on a respite retreat as all of our parents have a terminal illness and this was just what we needed. Property managers checked in to ensure all was well too.

We loved the spacious floor plan of this house. The kitchen was huge and well-stocked. Lots of seating inside and out which was a plus! It was nice having beach and marsh views. The house needs a good deep cleaning and an overhaul of the beds. Better quality mattresses and bedding would make stays more comfortable.

This house is run down and was filthy when we arrived. The beds seemed to be freshly made and there were clean towels. However, the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes, there were spills on the floor, clumps of dust hanging on the walls, spills running down the kitchen cabinets, hair in the bathroom sinks and tubs, and the refrigerator was dirty inside an out. Cabinets doors were broken and the air conditioning intake unit rattled, keeping people awake at night. In the morning I called the property management company and asked them to send a housekeeper and a maintenance person. They did so immediately. The maintenance man fixed the items on my list. He was very professional, proficient and quick. The housekeeper washed all the floors, wiped down the kitchen and bathrooms. She did the best she could in the 45 minutes she was there. However, this house needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. In fact, the entire interior really needs to be painted. All the woodwork is dirty and there are marks and chips in the walls.
All that said, this house is a great place for a large family gathering. The configuration of rooms lends to entertaining and gathering but also provides enough space that everyone can find a quiet place. There are lots of bedrooms, two family rooms and two decks. It’s about 2 miles to the lighthouse in one direction and 2 miles to Center Street in the other direction. There are ocean views from the front deck and march views from the back deck. The front deck is really big and has the perfect combination of sun and shade. The beach is steps away, just across the street.
For planning you should know that there is no gas grill, no blow dryers, no dish towels. I bought a couple of pot holders and left them there. There are only two beach chairs and no beach umbrella but you get free beach gear with the rental so you may want to rent what you need..

The house was lovely, lovely location.Some inside repair need to be addressed. Light bulbs out, only 7 forks in the kitchen, cupboards broken. The back porch needs cleaning. We didn’t feel we could sit on those chairs.

Major Electrical issues on the first day but the team at dunes properties were quick to respond and kept me updated on when it would be fixed. Excellent customer service. Folly Beach is beautiful and fun for the family. This property was perfect for our extended family of 14 to stay at.

Our family has grown larger over the last year or two and we needed a vacation home that would accommodate our needs for space to be together and space to be apart. This home was perfect for us for exactly that reason, and we especially enjoyed cooking together in the spacious kitchen and playing games on the dining room table overlooking the marsh. After walking on the beach, which was just across the street, we sat out in the porch swing talking, and we read magazines and napped in the chairs out there. Walking into town gave us the exercise we needed, and I loved watching the sunrise from my bed each morning near the back porch. It is probably odd to go on and on about a shower, but the master bathroom was off the charts incredible. I have never had such a luxurious bathing experience before, but I surely will again when we return there next year. My family and I had a wonderful time together and this house was the backdrop where our connections were renewed.

Just what we needed
The house was as expected. Clean, comfortable beds, cold A/C, and fast internet. We were there just a few days after hurricane Irma came through so the beach across the street from the house was in rough shape. But we rented a 6 person golf cart for the day and went exploring Folly Island and had great time. Would definitely stay here again.

Great family retreat!
Great location for celebrating our mother's 90th birthday! Wonderful front deck facing ocean was great for gatherings, games, and meals. Very large kitchen with adjoining den which was good for visiting and for group meal preparations. Only gave it three stars because the house was under renovations that were not quite finished which was inconvenient but it was still great. Once those are complete, it will be wonderful. There were only 3 baths one of which was in the master. So, if your group is very compatible, that will not be a problem. Beach access was directly across the street which was very convenient since we had small children with us. Loved watching all the surfers as well!
The best way to describe our stay is...we will definitely rent this home again!

I loved my girls getaway week in this house. The house was very spacious for 10 girls. The backyard was so peaceful and quiet, and it's located just a few steps away from the beach. The pool table was great for our night in. Ubers and Lyfts are just $20ish to and from Downtown Charleston. There's also a fun night scene on Folly. My girls and I will definitely stay at Estate of Folly again. It accommodated all of us to a tee!

Perfect house for a family reunion and MUSC graduation
Our family was looking for a large house for a family reunion so we could all be together. This gathering was also a celebration for our youngest sons MUSC graduation. We found the perfect place in "Estate of Folly". The house lent itself to having fun inside and out with decks on the front of the house and the back. The beach is just steps away and the sound is a quiet retreat for those who did not want the ocean and sand. The location was just perfect for us; not too far away from downtown Charleston, and anything you may need was available at the house or in Folly. Thanks for a memorable vacation and awesome place to gather a large family.

Great Home in Great Location!
We had such a good time in this home. 4 families stayed very comfortably in this home. Huge front porch that is partially covered was great for corn-hole. Back yard is right on the marsh, with shade. 2 tv family sitting areas, great for everyone! Master Bedroom is spacious with huge bathroom and shower. The home is very well maintained, all additions to this classic Folly Beach house are of quality construction. Dunes properties is always great, we have stayed with them in different rentals for the last year. Nicholas and Liz are very helpful in reservations. We Love Folly, close to the Citadel, and downtown. We will see you soon!
