The project will start at the West end of the island at the county park progressing towards the pier in blocks. The completion is slated for August. While this is welcomed news given the recent erosion from storms and high tides, we realize the potential for disruption based on the project’s timing. While most of the beach will remain publicly accessible during the construction, there is a possibility that certain sections of the beach, typically about 500 feet at a time, may be temporarily closed off. To the right a small grassy area leads you to a private entrance to a large screened in room holding a ping pong table and swinging bench if you feel the need to escape the sun. Located in the carport is your own private outdoor shower to wash away the sand and salt. And no need for the front door, just follow the spiral staircase to the first floor balcony.
