It was a lovely stay. The owner was available for questions, suggestions and just to ask about my day! How kind. I will definitely stay there again.

The location is perfect , also the room was so clean and comfortable. Staff was so friendly and support you with a tour guide.

Only I didn’t realize there was a limit hour to return to the hotel at 11:30 pm I guess due to security purposes . In case you want to spend the night to go a party , maybe you need to consider this restriction.

This is possibly the best place to stay in all of Antigua Guatemala! My wife and I have stayed here twice, so we have the experience to say so. The Barehuus is an elegant, well designed small hotel, conveniently located in walking distance of all that Antigua has to offer, yet not in the center of all the noise and busyness. We walked everywhere in Antigua and never thought any destination was too far. Antigua is meant to be enjoyed while walking. Upon arriving, we immediately noticed the charming exterior and were pleasantly surprised that the interior was just as charming. Each room has been designed well, generous in size with modern bathrooms. It is obvious that the owners care about cleanliness and comfort and make sure the rooms are up to standard daily. The owners are welcoming, hospitable and very helpful. We have had many interesting conversations with them both and consider them friends. Unfortunately, during our first visit, my wife became very sick the second day of our stay. All of our plans were cancelled as she struggled to get better. The owners were patient and kind during our dilemma, trying their best to provide everything we may need from tea to tissues. However, they went the extra mile by arranging a doctor to make a house call! When is the last time you had a house call? The doctor came, examined and took her to the hospital for tests and a diagnosis and prescribed medication. A few days later, we were flying back to the USA. I don’t think my wife would have gotten better without the help the owners were so generous to give. We are so glad we found this gem of a hotel and it has been a pleasure to get to know its wonderful owners. Bonus… Both owners are fluently multi-lingual, which is another great reason to stay here.
