About this house rental
Located in Lake Livingston, this charming house for $350 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. This is an elevated beach house...on the point of a point on the lake...and (we believe) is the highest open-water view on this section of the lake. Full home office (dock, dual monitors, wireless mouse & keyboard, printer) allows you to work remotely (but please don't). We are premier hosts and have all 5-star reviews. $100 surcharge for 2-night rentals will be reflected in your edited reservation. $150 surcharge to use our boatlift or double PWC lift for the duration of your stay. Lake home with 3 bedrooms & 2 baths, open floor plan perfect for hanging out with friends and family! Panoramic, gorgeous views from the oversized (newly improved) 2-story deck (shade lower, sun upper). Master (queen bed) with bath (shower) and two guest bedrooms (queen bed in one, full/twin and twin/twin bunks in the other) share the second bath (tub/shower). Ground-level features a screened-in porch with ceiling fans. Two large grassy areas with a 140-foot bulkhead water frontage for fishing and swimming. Firepits top (house level) and bottom (lakeside) with firewood provided. Two kayaks and a canoe, with life-preservers for adults and older kids (you will need your own for toddlers/infants). Rods and reels for amateurs (pros would be disappointed, so bring your own). Amazing lighting throughout the home, screen room and on the grounds. The boat dock has a large shaded lower area for fishing and a giant upper-deck for sun and partying. The boat lift is electric and can handle a regular-sized boat up to a pontoon boat (5K lbs). Electric double PWC lift, too. If you need either lift, please advise in your reservation or inquiry. The water level at our bulkhead is ~ 3 ft deep, making it a nice area to float with the young ones. Since you cannot see the bottom and there is no lifeguard, no diving and swim at your own risk. Watch the little ones closely, as the perimeter fence does not block waterline access. Dog friendly with a fenced-in yard for a $25 per night, PER DOG fee up to 2 dogs (VRBO's quote to be manually adjusted if you have more than one dog). Dogs are not to be left alone on the property and are not permitted on beds or furniture, please. IF YOU ARE BRINGING PETS PLEASE LET ME KNOW TYPE(s) OF PET, NUMBER OF PETS AND THEIR WEIGHTS IN YOUR RESERVATION REQUEST. There is no fence preventing an old, clumsy, or careless pet from falling in the water over the bulkhead or dock and there is no way for an animal to get out on their own - so please watch them when loose. This is a non-party, non-event, non-smoking property (smoking outside or on the deck is fine provided you leave no trace) but a great and quiet place for a small group of friends or family to get away from it all where we hope you'll treat our property like you would your own. Security cameras monitor the portico (2), deck (1), and boathouse (2). For privacy, guests may obscure/block the deck camera during their stay. We are in a gated community with minimal traffic -- safe for kids to ride bikes with helmets -- and a fantastic community pool. Your name will be left with the ranger at the gate for initial entry and we have a key card for your continuing access during your stay. Nice getaway, only a little more than an hour from Houston. Great area, great hosts, all around a great place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. The drought had made the lake several feet low but we made the best of it by using the sand as a beach for our dogs to stroll on and put a couple chairs near the shoreline to do some fishing. The house has everything you'll need for your stay and a safe/friendly gated neighborhood. Steve (owner) is great and adds a personal touch to the stay - very good communication and response time. Deck views of the lake are phenomenal and very quiet neighbors.

We have several years experience in staying in short term vacation rental homes. This is definitely among the very best. Certainly the location and view are superb. The house is very well equipped in every way and made our four day stay quite enjoyable in spite of the high ambient temperature and low lake level. Nothing that the owner could have done could have made it better. He took the initiative to contact us to ensure that our experience was meeting expectations. We would definitely stay here again.

The owners were very responsive anytime I had a question. We are already planning a trip back for the fall! Highly recommend…. Very clean and tidy. Perfect yard for our small dog to play!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Mr. Lowenstein's property. It was just what we needed for a last minute spring break trip. Unfortunately, the weather is not what we had in mind making it hard to enjoy all of the amenities. Luckily, we were able to spend most of our time in the downstairs enclosed patio area where we were able to enjoy time as a family playing corn hole and pingpong. We had two nights of smores and bonfires and there were several logs for us to use and everything we needed to get a fire started. We have not had the same resources available at other properties that included a fire pit. My only complaint is that the enclosed patio could have been a bit cleaner (dead bugs, outside debris) and it would have been great to have had a table in that area.
We had several meals in the surrounding local restaurants and enjoyed each one. We were able to go out on St. Patrick's Day and have fun at the Bullet Grill House.
Contacting Mr. Lowenstein was easy and he was very friendly when I had questions even though he was in Costa Rica. I would absolutely go back during the summer to enjoy the rest of the amenities.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of February and had a wonderful time. The place was perfect for us. The kitchen had everything we needed and the house was very comfortable. We loved having the ability to use the kayaks and canoe as well as the fishing gear. The view is beautiful and was everything we wanted for a relaxing weekend. Steve was a wonderful host and was great with communicating and very welcoming. Would highly recommend to friends and family and anyone looking for a place to enjoy being at the lake! Rented this property planning to take our boat, enjoy the family and relax. The weather didn't cooperate so we left the boat at home and didn't even miss it! The view is amazing and the house is clean and welcoming. It's fully stocked with anything you could wish for plus things you didn't even know you wanted (an enormous Hershey bar anyone?). Steve was friendly and instantly available if we had a question.
The best part was relaxing in the evening around the fire pit, telling lies...ahem...stories. Honestly, I happily reccommend this house to anyone.

We will definitely stay here again. The views are amazing. We got up early every day to watch the sunrise which is spectacular. The house has everything you need. Communication with the owners could not be better. This was a perfect weekend getaway for us and our friends.

I rented the house for my husband's birthday. The house was very well equipped, clean, with a beautiful view of the lake. We had fun kayaking, playing in the water, and just generally hanging out. If I had to say anything less than positive it would be that the roads after the main gate are a little rough. Of course, that is not the fault of the property owner. The yard is perfect for furry friends of the canine persuasion. I highly recommend staying here.

The home was as cheery and bright and accommodating as it looks in the pictures. Everything we needed was there and clearly labeled for easy access and awareness. The rooms and bedding were lovely and comfortable, the house stocked with watercraft, firepit (they even left us ingredients for smores), games and comfortable seating on three decks, and all the comforts of home supplied. we loved watching the sunrises from the upstairs porch and sitting on the deck over the lake in the evenings. such a wonderful relaxing spot. And close enough to Houston--we decided to run into Houston for the day and catch a ball game and dinner. it was perfect for us. The hosts are very gracious and helpful, making sure that we had what we needed and assisting us in finding a local pharmacy and with whatever we needed. We hope to come back soon to enjoy the lake more than we had time for this trip.

The house was very clean, organized, and well stocked with anything you may need to enjoy your stay! Plenty of room for the kids to run and play as well as many outdoor games. Excellent communication from the host for all details and questions we had. We highly recommend this property if your looking for a lake house getaway!

This property was the perfect lake retreat. The owners of the home were easy to work with and eager to accommodate any needs. The fishing was great and the lake was an excellent spot for just hanging out and staying cool. Can't wait to go back!

Will Definitely Stay Here Again!
This is a beautiful house with a great view, and is very well managed. The place was well stocked - we hardly needed to pack anything, and the owner proactively checked in with us several times over the week, making sure everything was going well.
One of our primary reasons for choosing this place was the ability to fish in the backyard. It did not disappoint. The pier is excellent. In early June the temperature stayed in the 90s with a heat index over 100 every day. But under the new decked roof, we enjoyed a shady breeze any time we were out there. And the early morning fishing was very good - we filled our stringer with keeper catfish, and even reeled in a 15 lb carp!
We also took the two kayaks and canoe out for a ride, and enjoyed roasting hot dogs and marshmallows on the upper fire pit. It was a great trip, and we look forward to visiting here again!

Wow, what a horrible experience. It should really say somewhere in the description that you have to climb 2 flights of very steep stairs to get anywhere around this property. The owner even knew I was bringing my 90 year old grandmother. The house looks good in the pics but as usual, it’s the little things that make or brake a vacation. Upon arrival, after killing ourselves to unpack with 10 trips up and down the stairs, we came to realize the fridge was 1/2 full and the freezer was 3/4 full and there was not enough room for our groceries. The fridge was also very dirty. Things got worse the next day when we went to throw away the trash and one of the 2 bins was full. It must have been there a long time, it smelled like a dead animal. This is the area where you “relax” and grill / play games. Things didn’t improve when I went to take a shower in the guest bath. It didn’t drain properly so I stood in tepid, dirty, soapy water the whole time. Needless to say, I didn’t feel clean afterwards. When I complained to the owner, he offered a discount if I didn’t leave a bad review. I agreed and then after, he refused the discount and told me he would report me for extortion so that my review would get removed. Classy!
