We had a fantastic stay at Exotic Island Dive Resort and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Malapascua for diving. The service throughout was excellent; the team were warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming. The food was very good, with a wide variety of options (if anything, almost too much choice!); and the wood-fired pizza was a real standout; easily one of the best meals we had during our stay. The accommodation was exactly as shown in the photos; clean, comfortable and well maintained. The diving, however, is where this place truly excels. It was absolutely top drawer and exceeded our expectations. A huge thank you to our dive guide Arvie; an incredible spotter with a great eye for marine life, and someone who went above and beyond to support us, including helping significantly during an underwater incident. He and Julius also quickly sorted an issue with my BCD valve, which was hugely appreciated. The wider dive crew were equally lovely; professional, friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. Highlights included unforgettable encounters with thresher sharks and mandarin fish; truly special experiences. Overall, an outstanding dive resort with a fantastic team. We would absolutely return.

Very little to fault. One tip for future guests: it’s worth arranging your transfers directly through the resort. They can coordinate the full journey, which would have been far easier than organising separate ferries and motorbike transfers from the port; particularly when travelling with dive gear. WiFi can be a little patchy at times, and we experienced a short period without connection. That said, this is somewhat expected on a remote island, and the team worked to resolve it within a day and a half. Mobile reception is also quite limited, so it’s best to plan accordingly.
