Would not stay there again

Clendlness was not good the bed sheet had stains on it and black hairs it could do with a visit from Sykes the owner is in her 80s so not really up to keeping it right

Good basic very dog friendly accommodation.

Excellent location for enjoying the beautiful Shropshire hills, towns, villages and National Trust properties. Good basic accommodation, with very good private parking. Enclosed field for dog exercising.

Working railway line close by, but after a couple of days you get used to it, and it doesn’t register anymore. Ideal for train enthusiasts!

Lovely country dwelling.

The Wheelhouse was exactly what we required for our stay, it was close the venue for the wedding we were attending and it allowed for us to bring our dogs. The welcoming discussion as we arrived put us at ease and set the scene for the rest of our stay which was lovely. The Wheelhouse was in a great spot to go walking in the hills and see the amazing views of the landscape. The facilities were all very good, with home made cakes and freshly produced free range eggs provided to us on arrival. There was a paddock to walk dogs very close by, which was great to see them run.

Very disappointing

The location was very good and although next to a mainline railway we were not affected by the noise of the trains. Easily situated for Shrewsbury and surrounding towns and villages.

We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the property. There were too many cobwebs and the property smelt of damp - probably as a result of being next to a water mill wheel. We also found that it was not possible to close the kitchen window which meant the kitchen was very crafty and cold. We cannot understand how this holiday cottage merited a 4* rating.
