About this house rental
Located in Port Clinton, this charming house for $504 per night is a great option for your next break. This beautiful property is nestled on the shores of Lake Erie in Port Clinton with spectacular water views! It is part of a Village with the use of a very nice Pool and Hot Tub! The pool/hot tub usually open from May (around Memorial Day) until September. Walk to Port Clinton Lighthouse within a mile of the property for your morning exercise and to get the day started! There are 3 levels to this Property - The upper floor consists of a huge Master Bedroom with a Juliet Balcony, TV, DVD, Fireplace, Walk-In Closet, a full Bathroom and a further Bedroom with Bunk Beds and a Day Bed with another pull-out bed (4 beds altogether). The middle floor consists of the main living area with a Large Open Living-Room with TV/DVD/Radio Stereo CD Player, and spacious Kitchen with Dining Room Table and Chairs to seat 6. There are 2 other Bedrooms (Queen in one bedroom and 2 Twins in the other bedroom) and full Bathroom. There is a balcony deck off this floor with Patio Furniture and Grill. You can sit here and drink your morning coffee or grill food for your romantic evening meal! The ground floor has another full Bathroom, along with Laundry Room consisting of a Washer/Dryer. There is a 2-car attached garage, with space out front for another vehicle or two. There is also a patio on the ground floor with a picnic table and chairs. There is Cable TV and Wireless Internet! There is Cookware, Crockpot, Dishes, Blender, Waffle Maker, and Utensils available for your use! Also available is a Child's Safety Gate, Iron, Ironing Board, Extra Rollaway Bed There is so much to do in the area - You would need to come back again! Make sure you go to: Cedar Point (one of the best amusement parks in the world) Jet Express to the Lake Erie Islands Jolly Roger Restaurant (within walking distance) - Best seafood around Lake Erie Catawba Island State Park African Safari Wildlife Park Fisherman’s Wharf Take a Fishing Charter Marblehead Lighthouse Hollywood Casino, Toledo Monsoon Lagoon Water The Islander Golf and Country Club Liberty Aviation Museum (where you will find Clark Gable's WWII Service Uniform and the Tin Goose Diner - Go back in time for all kinds of WWII Bombers/Aircraft, Jeeps, PT-Boats) - Fascinating! Wineries There is a private beach area right in front where the sand may not be visible if the tide is in. We still go swimming anyway on nice days. We have provided a rope staked into the ground next to the ramp, so that you can get into and out of the water easily from the jet ski ramp. It is shallow for about 200 yards out (varies from 2 to 3 feet deep), and the floor is sandy (not many rocks). Also, you are able to launch your jet skis and kayaks from this ramp. We've seen so many people skimming around on their jet skis in the lake right out front of the house. Otherwise, the swimming pool is about 30 seconds from the front door. We stayed at this property as a group of girlfriends who wanted to relax, have fun and enjoy the hot tub and lakeview. Donna and Mark were amazing hosts, making sure we felt like we were at home. Highly reccommend!

The property was excellent. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Very quick to respond to emails. This was prior to arriving when I needed more details about the condo. We had no reason to contact them once we arrived. The place was perfect. Anything we wanted to do was nearby.

Beautiful home with tons of space and seating. Super clean and loaded with amenities like beach towels, games, all the kitchen appliances. Check-in and out were simple and well explained. Pool and hot tub were steps away, clean and rarely crowded. The kids loved the little beach across the street for seashell collecting and sandcastle building. Lots of fun activities a short drive away. Perfect for a family vacation.

I can’t say enough good things about this house- awesome location, lake is visible from inside and from deck, plenty of towels, clean, lots of ceiling fans, literally has everything you need for the kitchen and lake. My husband hates vacation and he said it is the most comfortable he has felt in a rental. We definitely plan to go back!

Had ten girls celebrating a few 60th birthdays!! Had the best time! The place couldn’t have been any more perfect!! Bunk bed difficult for adult to sleep in.. And trundle under bed not very comfortable..we wish the pool area had a bathroom.. but we’d rent again in a heartbeat!!

We had a great time in Port Clinton. Saw the Marble Head Light House. Went to Kelleys Island. Some went to Cedar Point. Toured the African Safari Park. Had a great time at the pool and the hot tub. We enjoyed cooking at the house. Plus anything you needed was close by.

Great view and location, with gift basket and bottle of wine and plenty of towels. Bottom two bedrooms have no TV's for those who need a rest, however upper bedrooms do have TV's. So bring Ipad to stream. Plenty of cleaning supplies. Great stay, my family loved it.

We had a girls trip, had plenty of room for everyone. Nice view of the water, pool was great size. Perfect distance from the Jet Express to get to the island.

We had a really good time staying here with our family. The house was well set-up in which we all were able to have our own spaces. The small pool in the development was perfect at the end of the day. We also enjoyed the beach and flew kites right out in front of the house on the beach. The location was excellent for the many day trips we took. The kids especially liked the drive-through wild animal park. We were close enough to go back to the park for a second time later in the day. The house was very close to a Walmart and Kroger. Across the street was a RiteAide and what looked like a hardware store which actually also had groceries. Overall, the house worked out perfectly and we had an excellent time.

Beautiful home
Every year a group of us ladies that have been friends for years pick a place to spend a few days together and this beautiful home could not have been more perfect. From the check in, which was so welcoming, with a gift for us ladies, to an immaculate home. The owner stays in touch as the time to arrive gets closer. The pool and hot tub is so nice and it just happened to be a 90 degree day! Again perfect. I would highly recommend this home for your time away. This was truly one of the nicest places we have stayed over the years It’s also close to many nice places to visit and dine. Looking forward to again choosing this home to stay in.

The property was immaculate and was an excellent “base” for our adventures in the Sandusky/Cedar Point area. There were 6 of us, plenty of room for everyone to have their own space when needed. We grilled burgers, hot dogs and steaks on the grill, made pizza, taters, chicken in the oven, had plenty of room at the kitchen table for everyone to eat and play games at night. Great place in a great location
We stayed with our adult children for a week. This property was everything we wanted. Great location for lake activities, spacious living room and kitchen, and so we’ll- stocked with towels, linens, pillows, etc… It was also very clean and inviting. We enjoyed the neighborhood pool and hot tub every evening. Thanks for a great stay!

We’ve been to this location multiple times in order to enjoy the many birding hotspots. Donna and Mark have always been gracious and helpful hosts (They even leave a little goodie bag and wine for Christmas!) and I apologize for not leaving a review sooner. It’s become obvious to me that this is a labor of love for you both. Every time I’ve visited, I notice little upgrades.
We are cautious about sanitation, which is why I appreciate how spotless the house is. In chatting with Donna I learned that their family drives from Cleveland after each guest to clean the house inside and (literally) out. They even clean all of the blankets between each guest, something most hotels don’t even do.
It cannot be overstated- THE VIEW is spectacular. There is nothing more relaxing than sipping a morning coffee while watching and listening to the waves on the lake and songs of the Red-winged Blackbirds. The sunsets are stunning. This house (or I should say, “home”) is very spacious, open and inviting. This is the quintessential relaxing beach house. Plenty of comfortable seating on the main floor, generous natural lighting, ceiling fans and an open and fully equipped kitchen with full-sized, up to date appliances. I like to go to the Kroger down the road and stock up the large fridge. We save a lot of money that way, but we’ve also eaten at some of the places around town like Rosie’s or McCarthy’s.
I’ve only slept in the master bedroom and the queen, but both are incredibly comfortable and quiet. (I need to get the brand of those mattress toppers! :) ) The baths all have sufficient hot water and pressure for multiple ppl at once.
Perfect location for birding and spending time in the natural surroundings. Right off the highway. We plan to take the ferry to the Islands from here, since the port is within walking distance. I HIGHLY recommend this property to those looking to bird, fish or take the kids to Cedar Point.
Lastly, the pictures do not do justice, especially the master bedroom. I love waking up to the morning sun through the windows of the high ceiling. This stay we were able to take advantage of the warm electric fireplace. The hosts’ extra amenities have helped me to pack light. There are plenty of towels, soaps, toiletries, etc. The deck is a good size and we hope to make use of the grill in the future (as well as the pool and hot tub).

Our New Favorite Lake Erie Location!
Our family has often enjoyed vacationing at rental properties along the Lake Erie Shores and Islands, and I have to say this property is the nicest, cleanest and coziest we have ever rented! The house had plenty of room for all of us and was immaculately cleaned and appointed, so important during our current virus times! There were so many nice little extras provided to make our stay here comfortable and memorable!
We really just loved the upper outside deck, with a fabulous view of the lake and the beautiful golden autumn skies over Northern Ohio. It was the perfect place to relax in the late evenings. We also especially loved the large common areas inside. The kitchen, dining area, family room were open and well designed with very clean, comfortable furniture, couches and lounging areas, which gave our family the chance to relax and reconnect after not being together for a long time. This made our stay extra special. The inside living areas also had wonderful views of the lake. There is also easy access to the pool and spa area, which we will definitely use when we come back in the summer!
Bathrooms and bedrooms were comfortable, well supplied and also very tidy, with efficient ceiling fans that worked well. The little complimentary goodies that our host, Donna. left for us were a nice surprise and especially appreciated after our initial arrival. Our host, Donna, was wonderful and so easy to communicate with when we needed anything prior to and during our stay here.
This is now our favorite place to stay along the Lake Erie shores, and we are already planning a longer trip here at Donna’s Lake House next summer. This was a fantastic place that made our family’s short vacation perfect, and helped us to create some wonderful family memories. If you are looking for a vacation rental next year, look no further – this place has it all! We highly recommend, and will certainly be back here next year!!

Port Clinton stay

I finally have an opportunity to sit down and write a review on our stay at your property Oct 22-24th. While I don’t like doing this stuff, I feel it is right to forewarn future guests. Especially being that I have owned VRBO rentals in the past and I currently work with VRBO and evolve property managers.
To future guests of this property. These are a few things that are completely unacceptable as a VRBO property especially for the large nightly fee they are charging. Cigarette burn holes on the couch, family room fireplace not operable and clearly has not for some time, windows being repaired and not complete, large amount of dust on the ceiling fans, fly swatter above kitchen sink, and finally bugs on the bathroom towels. I have rented many VRBO properties throughout the country and this was one of the worse I stayed in. Now I have not rented a property in Ohio and maybe these issues are typical of the area and state, but I could assure you I as a past VRBO property owner, I would not even consider renting this property to guests. I could only hope the property owners consider my comments and rectify these issues immediately and before anyone else occupies this property.

Great Rental with View of Lake Erie
My siblings, husband and I rented here to be close to the fishing boat for our all day walleye fishing trip. Place was well appointed with everything we needed including a gracious "goody bag" which we put to good use! We would definitely consider staying here again!

It was a fantastic location for our family to gather to celebrate our oldest daughter's 50th birthday. The house was exactly as described and accommodated our family comfortably.
