About this house rental
Relax cliffside amongst the treetops! Sip your morning coffee with a peaceful view of Canyon Lake! Cliff Hideaway Butterfly house rests atop a gently sloping, tree filled gorge. The home boasts large deck that peeks over the surrounding canopy of trees and elegantly frames the view of the lake. Sunsets here are a must! The home features 2 master bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Additionally, there is a small twin room which is best suitable for a child! we have not stuffed numerous beds/bunk beds in our bedrooms. The house will accommodate 6 guests very comfortably. Perfect getaway for 1 family or 2 couples.
Activities include hiking (just below property), technical lake access, fishing, bird watching, boating, river tubing, and so much more! The Horseshoe of the Guadalupe River is 15 min away. Gruene Hall is about 25 minutes away and a great place to hangout for a day.
Canyon Lake is accessible from this property by way of a 2-3min hike through the park. It is a beautiful hike with many opportunities for great photos. However, due to the ever changing footprint of the gorge, we do urge our guests to exercise caution.
The entire house is upstairs. There are 21 steps to get to the entrance of the home. Then the house is on one level.
We may or may not be there during your stay for maintenance and landscaping but will be a text away if you need us.

First of all the property and home were beautiful and was plenty spacious for 4 adults and 2 children. It was great to have ensuite bathrooms for each bedroom, as it provided privacy for each family. The downstairs outdoor area was perfect to relax, watch a baseball game under the covered deck, enjoy the hot tub and fire pit (which was perfect for smores). The upstairs deck was spacious and had a propane grill. It rained almost the entire time we were there so the covered areas allowed us to enjoy the outside, despite the rain (the sitting areas, picnic table, hot tub were all under the covered roof). The gounds were well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils, cookware and dishes needed to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner. We did bring our own smore skewers but there could have been some there, cannot say for sure. Overall the house was pretty clean and all appliances worked. We did have an issue with the main shower being rather dirty but the host was quick to respond and promptly remedied it by coming to clean it herself for us. I think it was just the soft water is what caused an orangish pasty build up on the shower walls. While I fully understand issues can arise, the host made the overall experience a great one with her prompt response in communication and remedy to the issue that did arise. We would absolutely visit again.
