Very disappointing stay — serious bathroom problems and poor response from the hotel Our stay at Grand Uchisar Hotel was extremely disappointing. The bathroom had several serious problems that we reported to the hotel staff on our very first day, yet nothing was done to resolve them. The bathroom floor was constantly wet because the bathroom door was incomplete, with part of it missing, allowing water to flow out. The toilet was leaking from underneath and was not cleaning properly. The bidet was also faulty and sprayed water uncontrollably, soaking our clothes. These were not minor inconveniences; they affected basic hygiene, comfort and the normal use of the bathroom. We brought all these problems to the hotel’s attention on the first day itself. However, nothing was done to resolve them, with the explanation that the hotel was effectively fully booked. What was particularly frustrating was the timing of the eventual offer to change rooms. When we were leaving the hotel for sightseeing in the afternoon, we were offered the possibility of moving to another room. We were expected to return that night and leave again at around 3–4 a.m. the following morning for our flight. Under these circumstances, changing rooms for just a few hours was hardly a practical solution, especially after we had already spent our stay dealing with these problems. Guests should not have to put up with a leaking toilet, a malfunctioning bidet, a constantly wet bathroom floor and an incomplete bathroom door after paying for their accommodation. When serious problems are reported on the first day, guests deserve a timely and meaningful solution, not an offer to change rooms when they are about to leave for sightseeing and have only a few hours left before departure. I would not recommend this hotel unless it takes maintenance, hygiene and guest complaints seriously. We gave the hotel an opportunity to put things right, but the problems remained unresolved during our stay.
