The host met us there and explained everything we needed to know about the property. They also gave us recommendations about the area; where to eat, what to visit, etc.. They were very friendly.
The property is located just outside of Tanlay, France and was very quiet and peaceful but only a 15 minute amble into Tanlay where there is a very good bakery, a lovely little supermarket and a basic, good, friendly Bisto attached to the hotel: Bistrot La Basse Cour.
Good base for cycling: you can hire cycles and boats by the canal in Tanlay. 2 hours to Dijon, 1.5 hours to Auxerre and 25 minutes to Chablis. All worth a visit.
Large supermarkets 8 km away in Tonnerre; Leclerc, Lidl and Aldi but it's also in the region where they make Champagne, Chablis, Beef Bourguignon, Chaource cheese amongst other very excellent food & drink, so get out and try some local producers!
We missed a pool but that depends on what you are looking for.

Prima, rustige locatie, grote tuin, berging voor de e-bikes. Gastvrije en genereuze gastvrouw en -heer. Goed uitgangspunt voor fietstochten. Brood en overige levensmiddelen op korte afstand verkrijgbaar.
Jammer dat er in deze uitzonderlijk hete periode geen airco was. Er was in het slaapgedeelte wel gezorgd voor een ventilator.

Het huisje van Emmanuelle en Thierry in Tanlay is ons zeer bevallen.
Dit compleet en met veel stijl ingerichte huis staat eigenlijk in de tuin van Emmanuelle en Thierry, maar zij zijn zeer discreet en desalniettemin een zeer bekwaam en behulpzaam gastkoppel.
Het huisje heeft alle voorzieningen die je nodig hebt. Een volledig uitgeruste keuken, met oven en magnetron en voldoende gerei om lekker te kokkerellen. De Auchan is vlakbij en de plaatselijke specialiteiten legio.
Er is een mooi terras met een zonnewering. Je kan je fietsen kwijt in de kelder onder het huisje. Het ontbrak ons aan niets. We waren er maar 2 nachtjes en moeten zeker terugkomen want in Bourgogne is er nog zoveel te zien!
Alles was in orde. Misschien een lampje op het terras om een boekje te kunnen lezen.
