due to the room austere aesthetics; no closet or drawer space to place our clothes, no hooks for hand towel by the sink, also no shade during breakfast outside on the terrace (we were in the Grand Villa) but these were relatively minor things and everything else was wonderful.

The location is absolutely outstanding. The views over the Caldera are breathtaking, and waking up to that scenery every morning was unforgettable. Our Honeymoon Suite was beautifully designed, immaculately clean and finished with high-quality materials throughout. The atmosphere is peaceful, romantic and perfect for couples. The biggest highlight was the staff. They are a real asset to the hotel. Communication via WhatsApp was fantastic—they responded almost immediately every time we needed anything, were genuinely friendly and always did their best to help. Their level of service was excellent. Unfortunately, many of the things we found lacking are simply facilities the hotel doesn't offer, so there was only so much they could do.

For the price we paid (around £800 per night), we expected more in terms of facilities and comfort. The breakfast is à la carte but the menu is very limited and quite plain, with nothing particularly memorable or exciting. The outdoor furniture was disappointing. There was only one relatively small sun lounger, and the chairs were surprisingly uncomfortable considering the price point. In the Honeymoon Suite there is no separate shower—only a freestanding bath in the middle of the room. While it is beautifully made and of excellent quality, we would still have appreciated a proper shower. The in-room amenities are very minimal. Storage space is limited, there is no room service, no restaurant, and no drinks or food available during the day. If you want lunch or even a drink while relaxing in your room, you need to leave the hotel and buy everything yourself. The toilet is separated only by a lightweight glass door, which offers very little privacy. There is also no iron or ironing board, no laundry or pressing service, and only a small handheld garment steamer, which was not practical for steaming linen clothing and felt inadequate at this price level. Overall, this is a beautiful boutique hotel with an incredible location and exceptional staff. However, it offers a very different experience from a traditional luxury five-star hotel, and I think that's worth knowing before booking.
