Friendly environment

Property is at right location close by to food/shopping centre. Walking distance from/to bus station. Staff are quite warm too. I like the living room.

Windows needed to be closed down when temperature drops. Also water heater is not consistent.

Just good for 1 person. Expensive too

Location was the only thing that was good here

Twin room was so small .. so small .. that we could hardly move. The bathroom door was faulty and we had issues opening and locking it The kitchen was horrible. People who used cuttlery, utensils never cleaned and no supervision for that. The food store was so small we couldn't keep ours. We had to carry food from room to kitchen everytime

perfect location, cleanliness and order. super recommended

I didn't find anything wrong with it, but for one thing maybe the showers were a little small

Canberra is great! Village Hostels was ok.

The location of Village Hostels was good, right off London Circuit. So it was easy to get up each morning and head out around Canberra and get out to other areas.

The lack of a tv as was communicated in some reviews and also that the toilets/bathroom were not really clean. For $600+ I expected a bit better. Also try to ensure the rooms have towels and clean sheets. It's not that much to ask for.

It’s ok overall for good location in the city &

Location is very good for going to train station & easy around by bus.

1. It was Halloween day, then, all kind of decorations made me no good feeling of paint red blood colour for entrance door & hanged scared figure in the elevator in Canberra YHA (village). Shouldn’t do it for visitors & foreigners. 2. Female toilet main door did’n t lock properly, so, felt unsafe going toilet at nighttime or even at day time.

Value for money

The location was very nice and the hostel in general was really cool.

No hand soap was provided in the private bathroom. I had to get out of the room, go to shared bathroom to wash my hands. Asked the reception about it and said it wasn’t provided. Bed wasnt really comfortable but other than that it was a pretty good stay.

The hotel is very well located and has very nice common areas.

My only problem was with the assignment of the bed, because they gave me a bed and when I got to the room that bed was dirty. I looked for a person from the staff and he told me that I could take any bed that was clean. I chose one and after I left the hotel, when I returned at night, another person had taken the bed. I had to go back to the reception and ask for another bed in another room. They helped me straigh away but it was really anoying what was happened.

Always enjoy it there.

I have always enjoyed this particular hostel.Pre Village & post YHA.I am very familiar with it.

The male bathrooms could use a deeper and severe cleaning.

Disappointing.

The location is great

The bathroom doors are firedoors, super heavy and really aggressively swing shut causing huge bangs in the night, so I was woken up every hour when people went to the loo. I also left a brand new shampoo and conditioner in the shower which disappeared, I assumed that a guest would have taken it and at least it would be used but I was told by the front desk that it would have been thrown away, which is just needless waste and doesn’t create a community sharing feel. The signs everywhere were pretty unpleasant too.

Location, convenience, staff , cleanness and value for money, I highly recommend the Village, everything at your door step. Ive stayed there twice already, but will alway choose the Village, when I'm in the A.C.T. , thank you to all the staff for , making MY experience Safe and Sound.🙏👍 Keep up the Good work .

Facilities were good, good sized kitchen and lots of space in the room.

Pretty dirty, needs better cleaning staff, quite sad since the facilities were nice, just had to be looked after better. Not much to do in Canberra, mostly just walked around.

Lovely inexpensive place to stay in a fantastic location!

Loved the Goki app, which was used to open the main and front doors. Loved the fact that the hostel is located right in the heart of where I needed to be at this time.

Staff could have been a little more forthcoming with information about parking options (as I had asked prior to my stay without receiving an answer until I asked at reception), and how to control the level of air-conditioning in the room, since it was initially very chilly when I initially entered the room. This was all pretty minor though, since when I asked the staff these questions and other queries, they provided me with very helpful answers, and were generally very knowledgeable and friendly.

Affordable and practical

The location is amazing. Super central. Easy access to public transport. Different areas to hang out in the hotel.Staff is great, especially the cleaner is doing an amazing job. Also, the booking system is handy and practical.

Cleanliness. The cleaners from the hotel are doing an amazing job. However, I think that many backpackers must receive some information and education from the reception to keep the areas clean and tidy since check in. Many of them are coming from developed countries in privileged conditions so they shouldn't expect a babysitter to clean for them.

Not a bad place to rest for a night

Room was comfortable and not in a horrible location, definitely

No parking, no bar fridge in the room and no aricon remote, also their were people smoking weed in the hotel and the mould smell was very unpleasant.
