I made a last-minute decision to stay in Ancient Epidavros for a few days, and I'm so glad I did! The apartment is much nicer than I imagined: it's in a good location with a beautiful sea view. It has everything you need for a short or even longer stay. Although it was cold, the air conditioning worked well for heating. Nikoleta, the host, came to give me the keys at check-in and made time for a quick chat about the town. That's what I call hospitality! And so are the various kinds of tasty marmalade in the fridge, made by her mother. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return!

Lovely hosts, and nicely decorated rooms (though I think the designer had tried a bit too hard for my taste). Good quality facilities too.
This property is right next to the road and there was (unsurprisingly) lots of noise from that source. Not only did this mean sitting out on the balcony wasn't an option, it also meant the property itself was very noisy. As far as I could see the doors and windows were old (and not double glazed). No thought appears to have been given to noise insulation. That's pretty common in most Greek properties sadly, but doesn't make it less of an issue for me. Even my wife (who is Greek and not usually that bothered by this) commented on how noisy it was. Some of the rooms further back and higher up might be better, but that's not where we stayed. And this was off-season so the road is likely to even noisier in the summer.
